Because he was unfit 11 days ago and was never going to be fit for next Saturday.

So they could have returned the fixture to the original date 11 days ago. Unless the suggestion is there's some sort of conspiracy involved both ourselves and Northern Ireland? That's what Casino is suggesting, as far as I can tell.

In this instance, I think the clubs took the initiative and rearranged it with it being so late in the season.

We had at least 4 that were going to be called up so it made sense to set it in stone rather than leaving it too late to make any rearrangements.

Might do us a favour if NI give Charles a couple of half hour run outs. Gets him match fit without us even trying.

Or sets him back another few weeks.

So why do you think the match was postponed 11 days before the sqauds were announced?

Because we have players who play Internationals. I'm not disputing that. I just don't believe Northern Ireland have only selected Charles to justify our postponed game, which is what Casino said (if I understood him correctly. Maybe he was being sarcastic).

I'm saying we offered him up for selection knowing he probably wouldn't be fit so the match would be off.

We and he gets a nice rest and get some troops back.

Not sure NI knew about our secret plans though :D

Apparently, NI still want him to turn up and be assessed by their own medical staff, even if we're saying that he's not fit to play.

I think that's fairly standard practice.

I get what you are saying though

The match was rescheduled 11 days ago

It's feasible, though not probable, that for some reason the managers decide not to pick any of our players

If that did happen, would they then have to move the game back again? Despite for example with tickets now being on sale for the new date

Reading between the lines, Charles will be staying with the NI squad and isn’t one of the squad members being sent back to their clubs because they are injured. He’s done light training at the Etihad with the squad.

Evatt apparently told the NI management to use caution and has tried to put them off starting him. He could however be considered as a sub.

Not a bad outcome (obviously barring any setbacks) in preparation for Stevenage.

Toal predicted to start.

Sheehan not predicted by Welsh media to start, most saying him and Ramsay will be on the bench.

Ashworth with Wales U21 so doesn't look injured, guess he's just been dropped a lot

Ridiculous that.

Earned his place, and now barely makes the bench.

We all have different views on who should be in etc- but going back to Barry's comments about Iredale, it must be difficult to be absolutely on top form when they're in then out and repeat.

aye, said it before, it's a funny one LWB compared to RWB

Bradley and Cogley were #1 and played pretty much every game regardless

LWB gets chopped and changed a lot, IE has cited tactical decisions play a part but over the last 2 seasons we've had John, Iredale, Beck, Dapo, Williams, Ashworth and Ogbeta all play there, possibly others

Jones when he came on at Barnsley last season and possibly a couple of other occasions, too
