Doesn't look like it was caused by a bad challenge. The Bamber Bridge player was moving away from him. Looks like he planted his foot awkwardly and his knee buckled underneath him.

Ropey pitch a factor?

Gutted for the lad, but really, we could do with reducing the risks that come with these games.

Wouldn't be surprised if those kind of games are scaled back from now on (if anything surprised it's not been already) Evatt's had a moan on more than one occasion in past pre-seasons about state of pitches and challenges.

Yes I think some of it is relationships with small local teams but sack that if it’s causing issues they can generate their paydays in other ways

Yes IE commented on the pitch saying it wasn’t the best which like I say just eliminate it even if it means behind closed doors on training pitches

Pitch looks decent to me. Just a freak accident as far as I can tell.

Haven't seen it, but yeah, freak ACLs happen. Done it myself years back on an astroturf in Prestwich, same week as Yannick Bolasie did his for Everton. Safe to say neither of us have hit the same heights since...

Sickener, hopefully the Port Vale lad is capable!

Iredale and Sheehan both had recent serious knee injuries

Pretty sure Iredale has had two previously in his career also.

MJs knees were kinda fucked too.

Almost signed Wilson, another one with a bad knee.

Hopefully whoever we sign now is a bit more robust in the knee ligaments area

Well at least it didn’t happen a day after the transfer window shuts so at least we have the time to do something about it .

Bet he is wishing he had signed a new deal will be out of contract by the time he is back . Could of been a risk for the club if he was on a 3 year deal and does not fully recover

Thinking about it, theres no way hes not been offered a new deal, so like you say, he may have a few regrets at the moment

Not according to Evatt. Description by him of how the pitch played a part.

Where did he say that? Must've missed it in the cacophony of moonmen claiming it was caused by a reckless challenge.

Heard that as soon as it was uploaded. Think I even posted it on here. I've just listened to it again. At what point in the interview does he mention the pitch?

Tbh players need to be able to play on less favourable pitches, there are some ropey ones on our league

Even our training pitches have been shite for the last few seasons by all accounts.

Nah, just argue.

I asked where he said it you fanny, because I hadn't heard it, and radcliffe posted the answer. Did you have an imaginary argument with me in your head or something?
