Testing is miles better now, the real infection rate was perhaps 10 times or more higher than confirmed cases early on, they were only testing hospital admissions at first because of lack of tests. Deaths might be lower now because care homes and hospitals are protected better, oldies and vulnerable are being cautious, higher % of infections are in the young, viral load is smaller in some of those contracting it because of mask wearing, distancing etc. Those admitted to hospital have a better chance of survival too, dexamethasone and remdisivir is reducing mortality by a 5th up to a third in some patients. I think we are in a lull now. I think cases and deaths will rise again over winter, to what extent will depend on how well we combat it, and how open the govmt want the economy to be. Doubt we'll see anywhere near the death rate of April, just hope tbe economy can recover quickly.4 likes

I just hope the Greeks throw the book at him, even if it’s just to show that footballers aren’t above the law. Any of the rest of us would be in clink so why should this ignoramus be any different. Irrespective of the larking about, he should be doing time for trying to bribe the police officer. Come on Greece, make an example of him.2 likes

I was incommunicado in Bamburgh for several days. No phone signal, no paper shop, but at least I bumped into Brendan Foster - 25 years to the day since I last met him (in Gotherburg Airport). Whelan pulled the plug on Orrell RUFC. Wigan RFLC will do no favours for Athletic.1 like

Good point. I’m not completely convinced owner is going to walk away without nothing leaving 85% share in a ground worth 30m+. But if he does then you could feasibly end up in a situation like that. And remember the admins have to act in the best interest of all creditors so couldn’t just accept whatever bid keeps the club alive. it’s far from over this yet1 like

His; Whilst I have fith in him, I dont for second expect him to make it pro. The last thing he needs is my pressure and expectations weighing him down, he hears it from others. I keep his feet on the ground and allow him to enjoy his journey. At the age of 10 he's played some of the biggest clubs in Europe (awarded man of the match v Real Madrid), and travelled extensively. As a family we have made friends in Holland and Portugal. I dont want him to make the mistake I did and turn his back on playing; I gave up too young, and stopped coaching before I'd even really started. He loves football, as I did and if you do something you love, you'll never work a day in your life. He helps me out coaching the younger ones, and has expressed an interest in taking his badges when he is old enough. I never knew what I wanted I to do, and drifted aimlessly through my life for a long time... The one thing I have constantly said to my kids is to discover what you want to do, and go do it- we'll support you however we can. Even if Noah doesn't make the grade, he'll have fun on the way and still be damn good footballer with loads of memories; enjoy it while you can son1 like

amazon employ people to transcribe alexa requests. google released a security system and a thermostat with hidden microphones the first google home mini accidentally used to record all the time because one or two of its buttons were faulty, they had to disable the buttons to stop it. the google streetview vans used to wardrive and shit because Marius Milner programmed them to. i dunno if its all on purpose or not , But they all skriked when the Five Eyes did this to them.. a few years back.. "troubled by allegations of the government intercepting traffic between our data centers, and we are not aware of this activity.” which was pretty ironic, even at the time. Can't remember how it ended, but i remember not giving a fuck that some bureaucrat could ,say, secretly read bill gates's emails via a tap on a undersea data cable.1 like
