Just landed at the hotel after a schlep of a journey straight after work.

Seeing cars dotted about on the M6 with Bolton flags was ace.

Couple of cheeky flyers in hotel bar now while the wife gets sorted with the kids.

Life doesn't get any better does it??

Come on you white men 💙

Setting off at 7, nipping to the place we spread my brothers ashes on the way and then onwards we go..

Was going to have a flutter based off my fifa game today for a laugh.  But as we're firm faves, not worth it

Waaay back in 1978 my brother had his wedding booked for the same day we played Spurs (or maybe Southampton) in a crucial top of the table clash, the bride & my brother aren’t football fans.

It was an unusual time for the wedding - late morning like 11am ish.

I did the wedding, did the meal, then fooked off to watch the Whites & missed the reception!

We still have a laugh about it, but the bride & my brother never did quite ‘get it’

My biggest football regret in that respect was missing the Leicester 5-0 opening day fixture to go to the wedding of a house mate from uni

Getting texts and phone calls from mates at the game whilst I'm sipping bucks fizz in the brides back garden

I've not even seen him since that day

Waste of fucking time

Just remembering that Bernard Mannings Roller with the rego plate BO110X was parked outside the Tower Ballroom about 30 years earlier.

Anyway, the big day has arrived. Probably foolish but I feel supremely confident. The recent Wembley experience gives us a huge pyskickological advantage in my opinion. I just don't see us losing this but of course it is possible. Funny game football.

Four family members just arrived from Oz. Were planning watching it in The Crofters but now somewhere up around Leyland. I'll be here wishing that I hadn't booked to go to the CDS in a couple of days time. Carton of a fine German beer and up til the wee hours - hopefully celebrating. Flag is going out on the balcony.

Best wishes for a cracking day today. "Back where we belong" headlines tomorrow.

Still almost 12 hours to go and I really want to start drinking. May watch the 2 previous playoff wins and then have a nap to sleep of a bottle or so of decent Western Australia Cab Merlot. Then start drinking again before the late night kick off. COYWM!

Reminded of how Xmas Eve used to drag as a kid.

Didn’t think I’d be this nervous/excited.

Not been like this since the Rioch days.

Equally, I’ve had about 4 hours sleep… I’m not in the train until 9!

I've been in bed for the last 2 days with man flu but managed to drag myself to the airport this morning. Still not 100% but hopefully alcohol has the same effect as cold and flu tablets! COYFWM

Lucky if it was 2 hours sleep!

Wembley weather looks like it’s taken a turn for the better.

Shorts it is!
