mickbrown Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) Pleasantly half pissed. Getting my arse kicked at Scrabble by the missus and the nippers. Boy from Halliwell batting way out of his league. Have fun you feckers. Looking forward to tomorrow with my own. Edited December 25, 2024 by mickbrown Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Ate all my dinner. Unlike the rest. Visited the f-i-l in the "isolation" (aka flu) ward. Room felt like it was covered in lava. 3 others in there too, they were all rough as fuck. Thank fuck it's all over. Enjoyed the new Wallace and Gromit film, though maybe not quite as good as previous ones. Quote

Popular Post jayjayoghani Posted December 25, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 25, 2024 Staying here for 2 weeks, middle of nowhere in Queensland. 3 days in and it's bliss. Xmas dinner was Venison rack and a glass of Napa Valley red. Merry Christmas. Quote
Dimron Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 "Gursky" image of Sandilands Beach at Sutton on Sea at 2pm on Christmas Day... I was sat there playing cat and mouse with a seal who kept bobbing his head up and looking at me... better than the MIL staring at me across some dry turkey and over slated gravy and sprouts. Probably the best Christmas ever Quote

Ani Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Very steady (boring tbh) day here, only me the missus and her mum. Although kids and partners did pop if for a bit this morning. Me and the missus would happily knock it on the head and go for a curry, but her mum won’t eat Aishhan (as she pronounces it) food. Got games and left overs night tomorrow after the game. Hope a certain football club does not ruin tomorrow for us 😂😎 Quote
gonzo Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 Gavin and Stacey. Absolute brilliance. Quote

It's quite simple really, I do not like James Corden (personal choice) so I will not watch anything with him in it, I watch loads of stuff in which I don't like someone but my viewing isn't spoiled Quote
Jol_BWFC Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) I see it had the biggest Christmas Day TV audience in over 10 years. More than 12 million people watched it yesterday. I really enjoyed it. I don’t really like Corden but he’s very good in G&S. Edited December 26, 2024 by Jol_BWFC Quote
Traf Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 The beauty of G&S is that it isn't all really focused on any one character; it's littered with decent roles. Gavin, Stacey, Pam, Mick, Smithy, Ness, Bryn etc all play a huge part. The writing is/was excellent even if we all knew what would happen at the end. Quote

Royal Family and Only Fools spring to mind, they seemed to lose what was special about the originals. That last night captured it all for me. Was absolutely perfect. Poignant, funny and just nice watching. Quote
