Quoting myself here But after some digging, if you combine the amount of shots on target we had in our games against Rotherham, Wigan, Birmingham, Huddersfield, Stockport and also Oxford at Wembl

I said a month or two back McAtee was a fraud. Does a load of arm waving and pointing, as though he's from a higher level and the others need the benefit of his advice, while doing absolutely fuck all

He says he asks the players to come out and show our DNA and what we are about and that's what we did... What playing like shite, having 1 shot on target against an incredibly poor side that had

unsure what's happened to Victor, watching him "sprint" for a ball was just .. shocking

Scored 16 goals then 10 goals in last 2 seasons, looked like a pub player who had stumbled into the team.

Typified by the counter attack when it was 3 on 1. He was played in and dawdled, allowing their defender to come across and then struck it straight at their player. Went out for a throw.

Walker and McGinlay , which one of those was a big forward ?

Neither but you could trust both to retain possession and pass it to one of ours most times. Rioch didn't play route 1 but his sides attacked with speed and weren't scared to hit those 2 early and then support.

Totally agree , We all wanted him to succeed , rooted for him . He has had 3 years and has had half a dozen good games .

Wont get an offer for him , when is his contract up ? send him out on loan . Whats the worst that can happen ?

Fair enough , cant argue with that.

I don’t doubt Evatt is committed and doing his best…..but beggars belief how he can find signs in that performance that we’re getting back to our supposed best and are likely to threaten the playoffs.

Oh, and he continues to demonstrate very little empathy for the fans and our view of the world.

On a seperate note 417 Wanderers at this game is fuckin outstanding !

None of them, but my Point of ages ago was that we had a big forward on the pitch tonight but might as well not have.

I watched tonight and experienced something I don't recall in almost 3 decades of following us. I found myself wanting a Wanderers game to finish (that we were winning!) so I could watch Forest v Liverpool. I simply couldn't have given a shit if we won or lost a competitive fixture.

I was a big Evatt "happy clapper" for a long time, but I'm now so bored of it. The same players. The same tactic (singular). The same empty platitudes; the same gaslighting excuses.

If he thinks tonight's performance is the DNA of the combo of measured control and shock & awe progressive football he has led in the past 5 years, he is delusional and/or a mentalist. It's like watching paint dry.

Anyway, rabies symptoms include:

- Numbness (me watching that dross)

- Paralysis (our defence to midfield "transition")

- Anxiousness (see above)

- Hallucinations (general passing to the opposition)

- Difficulty breathing (Vic)

Walking down the Manny Road, to see the Rabid Aces.

See you Saturday 😬

A win is a win sounds so hollow when we could easily have conceded a few.
Yet again we rode our luck and it should be no surprise when we don’t get the breaks.

There is so much work to be done to turn us into a strong team.

Did Victor Abbracadaraojo touch the ball???

Yes Loads of times

It Bounces of him

like when you kick it agenst a wall

Neither were massive obviously but at least both could jump and head a ball as well as receive and hold it up. I’m afraid ours can’t do any of those things and we desperately need someone who can. I’d use the term “Strong” forward rather than just big but I’m sure we all know what we mean?

Who?

If you’re referring to Vic, he’s not big, contrary to the nickname. He’s 5ft 10 and although pretty stacked, has no knowledge of how to use his body to hold the ball up.

He’s exactly the same as our other strikers.

Whenever Evatt speaks to the media, he isn't talking to people who watch our games.

All the talk yesterday of DNA, 'my teams don't do that' against Rotherham, 'most one sided game you'll ever see" vs Mansfield. It's all damage control for his own brand as a manager.

Deluded he just doesn’t see what we the fans see every game, but he is superior to us .

Disagree.

When you kick against a wall it generally bounces true.

Good post.

I was similar, which I never thought I would be.

The only thing I can debate with you is one aspect his comments, about the why the players signed for us and going out there to show what they can do, playing the way we play.

If I’m putting myself in his shoes, (and I’m not going to change the way we play because I have complete faith in the “brand”) that’s what I’m saying, it does make sense to me.

But that said, part of me hopes we draw Rotherham. I’m not one of the wanting us to lose crew. But if we happened to get knocked out and it saves me £100s going to Wembley for an unnecessary side show, that could be used as justification for this season being a success, I won’t be devastated.

Theres only one Wembley trip I want this season.

I ended up going (last minute decision) with a Lincoln pal... it was dire third division dross... we both wanted pens at the end for a bit of entertainment

Didn’t know band aid had reformed

McGinlay wasn't overly big but wanted to head the ball and could do, very well.

He was also as strong as an ox and not afraid to get stuck in. Very different to our current mob.

We also had a winger who would run at them, beat a man, and get decent crosses in!
