no, a proven RB

I've never seen Forrester play anywhere other than the middle, so he can stay there

I like Forrester but he was poorer playing RCB in a 3 let alone RB. He’s bang in the centre of a 3/5. Not seen much of him playing RCB in a 4, but he lacks pace.

Going back over the years, some of the very best centre halves I've seen weren't known for their sprinting prowess.

Organisation, reading the game, shouting and leading, not being afraid of a challenge.

Tony Adams, Terry Butcher for example.

Always seemed to have presence.

Aye that's the point

You need a bit of pace and ability to get forward at full back more so then at centre half

Ryan Ledson. Released by PNE, fits the mould of what we’re looking to bring in. Local ish lad.

Wigan also keen. Not ITK but not a ‘man in the pub’ rumour either.

Apologies if mentioned elsewhere. Not had chance to read all threads

If your on about Roughan, hes 6ft 1"

Nearly as tall as our supposed 6ft 2" keeper Joel Dixon?

It must have been perspective from ESL that made it look like Declan John was towering over him when we were defending a corner.

Especially nowadays.

I think back to Phil Brown who couldn't sprint, but compensated by supporting the winger, rather that frequently overlapping.

Good crosser and decent shot too.

Modern game seems to require full backs to more attacking.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few decent free transfers or loans from PNE end up following Lowe to Wigan, he's in pole position, they wouldn't even have to move house.

We'll probably have a chance of signing those that don't like him!

Decent age, but he's only 5'9".

Way too small that! 😁

He’s a midfield player, not a defender.

Where did you get that from Woolli because on all the stats I find on him he’s 1.75m or 5’ 8”. To be fair on the pitch and aside other players he looks bigger that 5’ 8” but not over 6 foot. Not that it matters, he’s big enough to play either full back or centre half as his performances have proved and I’d think full back is where Schu would see him most.

Didnt Forrester come with a reputation as a decent makeshift right back, similar to Johnston at leftback. Gives us decent flexibility in a back 4 should we get injuries.

He looks bigger than 5'8" to me.

Probably about right at 6 foot but he’s certainly not the colossus that some want.

To be fair Forino is 6'3 maybe we can get away with a slightly shorter CB next to him, maybe we dont need Wheater and Beevers 2.0.

Is it always split, or is that new?

It's a new thing.

It explains in the article that it's to enable players to be registered in time for the FIFA Club World Cup thingy.

Seems new to me, I can’t ever remember it being split before and frankly I can’t see any sense or logic to it but I’m sure it’s just something I’m missing.

Ta.

How sad.

Thinking about it, that would just need an earlier start, not a break.

Unless that is also covered.

Anyway, hardly crime of the century.
