Some massive over thinking going on here and across Bolton sites generally.

Just turn up Saturday, play best team available and get a result.

Then do same three more times.

Trying to work most favourable or least favourable combination of results to give us most or least chance to get promotion is 100% subjective. worrying what happens if Stevenage win or Exeter are on the beach. V Bradford is pointless.

After Saturday we need at most to win next 3, or maybe even a draw in there.

Pointless but inevitable

Don't think I've been this nervous about the play offs simply because it's one the most inconsistent league seasons I think we've been involved with

So no idea what to expect of us or the opposition

Last time out we were cruising in the semis but holding on by the end then didn't even turn up in the final

And that was when we were the favourites

Hard to pick a favourite this time

Feels like the biggest lottery yet

And I desperately do not want another season in league one

Bookies have us favourites, albeit only slightly.

We’re the only ones with a place secured - that will factor in at this stage.

We were also something like 8/13 for the Oxford game so I’d not look into it too much!

As usual, we're mainly the favourites because of all the clubs in there, we're the best supported and have more fans lumping money on us than the others do.. The betting market for League 1 outside of the clubs' individual support base, is pretty small

Tell you what, Plymouth at 15’s isn’t a bad gamble.

I got 16s just before we beat them, not a good bet now in my opinion. They can only catch Stevenage who i expect to beat Wigan.

Luton are the bet in view.

Fucking flying at moment and have the real momentum, theyre just relying on others fucking up

We will stop that in its tracks on Saturday. Win Saturday, im very positive of going all the way.

Having secured a play off spot helps as well

Both Bradford and Stockport only need a point, Luton then cant catch them, whatever they do at ours, which i expect will happen.

If you think that you would better doing us to win Saturday at 6/4, Stevenage to draw or lose to Wigan at 13/10, and Plymouth to win.

Works at about 7/1 , then after Saturday roll the winnings onto them to win play offs. Would pay a lot more than 15/1.

Tried to work out same for Luton but more variables as they can catch and of the other three teams above with right results. If they beat us, which they won’t 🤣👍

What odds for 3rd,4h,5th, and 6th all finishing on 75 points?

2-2 draw this one. We'll get pegged back twice

It could happen, but it hasn't happened in the last 2 seasons.

Last time a team scored twice to peg us back Randall scored for Posh and Jerome for us!  But we were 2 up in that rather than 2-1.  Stevenage equalised twice here in a night match 2.5 years ago but Sheehan scored the winner.

As we all know, the Playoffs can be an absolute lottery; a ludicrous refereeing decision, a serious injury to a key player, an inexplicable loss of form, etc, can all wreck a promotion attempt.

HOWEVER, even ignoring the fact that we're currently the only team that's actually 'in' the Playoffs, there's not one of the other Playoff candidates that I would swap places with in terms of achieving success and reaching the Championship - not even close!

If we have the same amount of good/bad luck as everyone else, we will be playing against Preston/Blackburn/Burnley et. al next season.

Nobody will want to play us.

Probably right on this.

Cant imagine Stevenage fancying us after the 5- 1 (yes I know there’s the bizarre Oxford comparison- but I’m not having that happening again)

I chatted to Plymouth and Bradford fans after our recent games and they both were very wary of facing us in the play-offs.

There’s probably only Stockport and Luton (If they beat us Saturday) who would be more confident.

33/1. Us to lose next two to draw and Stevenage to win.

Who did you get that with? Obviously dont want us to lose, but a possibilty.

Only lost once to a team in the top 9 since the opening day of the season and that was Cardiff where Forino,  Rodrigues, ACD and Kenny did not start.

Bring whoever on

That using Hills.

The 2 draws are 2.9/1 and 2.3/1 so that pushes it up, we are 6/4 and Stevenage 4/7 prices have increased
