Sweep Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I think we would all have settled for a point prior to kick off, hopefully that has now stopped the rot and we can attempt to build on the result
snackum Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 So... before everyone starts.... The manager put out a team that took the lead, conceded from a deflection, then should of won it in the last few minute. Elmander Out !
Mounts Kipper Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 good solid hardworking team performance, thought steinson proved he is better than ricketts today, look like a team who are together and that will do for me.
Casino Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 movement and passing of fulham is streets in front of us doesn't count for much in the big scheme of things, just an observation
Werder barmen Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 got a fine run of games now where we should pick up points..and this draw will only give us confidence.. seems to be a good defensive display seeing we were under the kosh all second half. sounded like Steinsson and Cahill had good games
no balls Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Onwards and upwards hopefully & we will beat those Old Gold bastards next week!!!
Traf Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Excellent battling performance today. Well done, Gaz & the lads.
desperado Posted November 28, 2009 Author Posted November 28, 2009 Positives - Much better performance. Defensively more solid. Steinson had good game (despite the sitter at end he missed). Klasnic much better than Elmander. They didn't look dissolusioned like last week. Can we build on that in next few games? Negatives - Fulham better side. Gave away possession too easily. With Wigan and West Ham winning and Hull getting a draw at city there is a gap appearing from the bottom 3. Massive 6 pointer next week
athywhite Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Excellent battling performance today. Well done, Gaz & the lads. yeah but why oh why do we go into that dropping back mode letting teams have the ball cheaply and storming all over us.
Breightmet Boy Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 yeah but why oh why do we go into that dropping back mode letting teams have the ball cheaply and storming all over us. Quite a few teams do it, the team losing tend to attack hard in the last 20 mins. First line of attack is defence
snackum Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Quite a few teams do it, the team losing tend to attack hard in the last 20 mins. First line of attack is defence Only if you can hit a team on the break.
athywhite Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Quite a few teams do it, the team losing tend to attack hard in the last 20 mins. First line of attack is defence is that as well as the 25mins that goes before it, come off it 4 attempts on target will rarely win you a game, you need some attacking options to try to get the second if not, well you might scrape a draw.
Arrested development Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Samuel fucking shit cunt good result in the end. J'lloyd was an embarrasment today. Absolute toss. Gave the ball away every time he got it. the save jussi made from duff, j'lloyd didn't get close enough to him. Did he learn his lesson? Did he fuck. Stood too far off duff for their goal. he needs to get tighter to his man and not back off. overall though a good point.
Smiley Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 only just found out how we've got on! cannot believe how less interested I have become in my team.
Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 not happy with the result or performance. Other clubs around the bottom are pulling away. If we continue in this form the club will be adrift come January with wolves and pompey. Fulham were by far the better team, jussi saved us from a 2-3 goal defeat. When one considers were both vlubs were 2 years ago and the respective monies spent there is now a gulf between the sides and the quality of management, when there should not be.

I do agree Woy is a far far better manager the our Gary.
Casino Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 not sure about the gulf in money spent either
John Thomas Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 (edited) so you've said? I do agree Woy is a far far better manager the our Gary. Interesting point made by Zat Knight that Bolton should follow the Fulham blueprint, in layman terms just employ a good manager. Chris Kamara on SSN said he spoke to Garty after the match and said Gary is under no pressure and will be manager for the foreseeable future, so no point in having polls on getting rid of him, he's staying like it or lump it. Debate over. Edited November 28, 2009 by John Thomas
birch-chorley Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Agree with the Roy Hodgson comment, far better manager than GM, by a million miles and shows with the teams. Very good point Fulham away. Looks like we are back in the Megson cycle - to be fair i though we would lose today and against Wolves then just as he was about to be sacked we would go and get a win against City at home. We will probably go and pick up a few points in the next few games but the next dour spell is only round the corner, its relentless! Still think we would pick up more points if we got rid now and got a good quality manager in but hey it aint going to happen.

Mounts Kipper Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 (edited) The style of football fulham play with only average players is in my opinion the model we should be looking to follow, they do not lump it, they continue playing it on the floor and trying to work a chance, they are a belting team to watch and full credit to Roy Hodgson for playing that style of football without spending mega money, it just goes to show that it is possible to play good football without spending mega money, with that style of play the reebok stayaways would return.
