barryk32 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 but got a copy of "End of Watch". We don't advocate that sort of thing round here. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Watched first 4 series of Dexter, Series 4 is by far the best. Giving it a break as the consensus is it goes downhill after this. Just watched Kill List. I think that's the first time I've ever had to put my hands over my eyes watching a film (the scene where he's caving in the paedo's head with the hammer) 6/10 Reminded me of a scene in Irreversible, great French film.9/10 Quote

bgoefc Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 tonight was "Now is Good" with a grown up Dakota Fanning and Paddy Considine and a strong British cast. A good British film which had wifey crying many times throughout, has had a mixed reception from the critics but for me they were unwarranted. If nowt else Fanning should win the best award for a US actress giving a convincing performance as a Brit and gets the accent right. Considine is always good. Quote
Zico Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 The Hobbit Bit long but really good in parts when it gets going 8/10 Quote

DazBob Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Watched Red Lights last night. Decent cast - De Niro, Weaver and Murphy. Started well, but as with most films I seem to have watched lately it got a tad boring and I didn't really care at the end. 5.5/10 Quote
Big City Girl Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The Grey - brutal but good, didnt particularly like the ending. The Hunger Games - surprisingly good. End of Watch - liked it a lot. Quote

Zico Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The Hunger Games - surprisingly good. i thought it was toss took too long for the games to get going then nowt happened when they did thought it'd be like battle royale or the running man, but she hid up a tree for 20 minutes Quote
Traf Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The Hunger Games - surprisingly good. Read the 3 books on holiday last month, far too long & slow: all 3 books could have been condensed into one IMO. Quote
barryk32 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Read the 3 books on holiday last month, far too long & slow: all 3 books could have been condensed into one IMO. I've also read them as well as watching the films. It fucking baffled me how they managed to leave so much stuff out, important stuff at that. Did you know they are stretching the final book over two films, that has to be the one with the least amount of content. Quote

I reckon that if they stopped talking about the banquets and posh clothes away from the arena, the books would have been pamphlets. Quote
