gonzo Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Finally got round to watching The Hunger Games last night.... Â Pretty decent. Â Took ages to get going though,it did my head in as you could tell quite clearly it is based on a book,in which I hadn't read. Â You would splatter the main lass also. Â 7.5/10 Quote

Smiley Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Argo - 7/10 Zero Dark Thirty - 7/10 The Thing (2011) - 4/10 (great graphics, modelling, cgi, etc) Â Read up about both Argo and ZDT afterwards, got slated for a lot inaccuracies and mistruths. From our point of view, they stated in Argo that the British Embassy turned away the 6 US officials..... when in reality we took them in until we ourselves came under attack, so the Canadians took them in. They could've quickly mentioned that, rather than telling the complete opposite. Quote
Smiley Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 Been recommended "Searching for Sugar Man".... anyone seen it? Quote

More Dylanesque than jazz, great story though. Gets 8+ on IMDB. Â Edited February 17, 2013 by Smiley Quote

magic legs Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Seven Pyschopaths  was good, funny, tried to be a bit to clever for it's own good but a got a good random storyline going on  and it's got sam rockwell and christopher walken in it, so it's good by default  Usually find Rockwell quite irritating but thought he was superb in Moon. magic legs Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Forgot how much dirt gets in your eye when you're watching Up. Â Ah the montage scene. Really unexpectedly sad the first time you see it. Quote
DazBob Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Watched 'Mama' last night. Â A couple of genuinely creepy moments but could've been so much better. Â Ending was poor to say the least. Â 5.5/10 Quote
TroySwoosh Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 watching Red Dawn remake, th'original was one of my favourite films, seems promising so far Quote
bgoefc Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Saw Argo Saturday then Flight last night. Â Although Argo was ok 7/10 I cannot see why its being tipped to win all the awards all of a sudden. Â Flight was excellent 9/10, both me and wifey came away saying what a cracking film. Washington deserves to win the oscar for best actor, though lewis is probably nailed on for lincoln. Quote

DazBob Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 It had the potential to be really good, I was glued to it at first, but disappointed with the ending. Â The bit where she suddenly appears over her shoulder. Â I jumped so much I let out a little squeel. Quote

Lewis will also get it because Lincoln is a USA film about a USA national historic hero. Quote
