Gonk Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 you'd have enjoyed brazil on talkshite this morning I beg to differ
tylswhite Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 How many major decisions has she got wrong? None so far. That makes her one of the best already. Ive no problem with women running the line or even refereeing for that matter, she might be a bit ropey looking but at least its something to look at when the game is shit I would love to see Rooney, Terry or any other twat for that matter swearing at a woman referee when its rag week
Carlos Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Linesmen, linesmen, linesmen... They are failed referees, usually mid-40s, 5 foot 3 with a pot belly. How the fuck they can be expected to keep up with the modern game is beyond me. No problem with sticking someone younger there, whatever sex.
superjohnmcginlay Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) Keys and Gray have been stood down from tonights game apperently Linky Edited January 24, 2011 by superjohnmcginlay
no balls Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Have they said yet if she is a lezza ? That's a given surely.
Gonk Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Mentioned on Yesterday Afternoon's show that a certain Mr Allardyce will be trying his hand at co-commentating. They didn't give any reason as to why though.
MickyD Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Keys and Gray have been stood down from tonights game apperently Linky I just hope this doesn't detract from the solemnity of the build up to the game.
Boby Brno Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) I think its disgusting the sexist attitudes that prevail in football. It shouldn't matter one jot weather an official is male or female and the predictable chauvinistic comments about a young woman trying to make a career in the game are a joke. Anyway, here she is on holiday, http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3369470/Sky-Sports-Andy-Gray-and-Richard-Keys-in-sexism-row-over-lineswoman-Sian-Massey.html Edited January 25, 2011 by Boby Brno
Smiffs Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 I suppose the 'jokes' of today are the racist quips of yesteryear...'them darkies wont run in the cold' type stuff. They're not acceptable now so I suppose the seixsm isnt either. If anyone behaved like that in any other workplace they'd have some fucking ugly hairy lezza who is too ugly and lazy to get cock from HR breathing down their necks.
Cheese Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Andy Grey and Richard Keys are a pair of cunts, but they're sort of right - the game has gone mad. What next? Referees in wheelchairs?
Carlos Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) I said the same thing last night, if you are going down the PC route then I think we need to get Spazzy Darren a lino kit and flag. Edit: although I think Gray was totally wrong, I'd rather have a 25 year old running the line than a short, fat, bald 50 year old that we currently get. Edited January 25, 2011 by Carlos
Ani Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Andy Grey and Richard Keys are a pair of cunts, but they're sort of right - the game has gone mad. What next? Referees in wheelchairs? I agree a very valid comparision.

Not sure, it would have to be mobility scooters, dont forget they have to hold a flag and doing it in a wheel chair would mean they'd be going round in circles.

Don't be silly, referees don't need a flag, just a couple of cards and they can put them in the handy pocket on the side of the aforementioned spazchariot. It sounds like a decent idea, it's not like they had a problem at Burnden letting the blue ones in. It would also ensure the club employed their required quota of "special" people.

Sorry I was babbling on about linesmen Surely refs could use a segway ?
Boby Brno Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 My sons girlfriend had a right go at the referee after another dubious decision went against us last night. 'Are you blind' she said. I asked her if she was only saying that because he was a man and that suggesting that he was visually impaired was a slight on many people who have the misfortune to have no sight whatsoever. And another thing, those players who put there hands to their faces, mocking a pair of glasses are offensive to spectacle wearers like me. Us minorities need to stick together
zurichwhite Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 You can't help laugh at the clip http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1350255/MARTIN-SAMUEL-Listening-Richard-Keys-Andy-Gray-like-visit-1970s-cabaret-club.html
Cheese Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) The big issue here is the "think before you speak" mantra that the fat bearded wanker, Martin Samuel, alludes to at the end of that article. We are getting dangerously close to living in a society where grown adults are being discouraged from having an opinion (or atleast discouraged from vocalising their opinion), and where mature humans are effectively being told what to think and say at all times, regardless of when or where they are. All that should have happened in this case, is that Andy Grey and Richard Keys admit they were wrong, and that the female "referees assistant" actually did a good job, and that they were only engaging in light-hearted banter anyway, the likes of which goes on every single second of every day, between men and women alike. It's fucking pathetic that shit like this even makes the news. I'm sure I remember Claire Balding making a "men always leave the toilet seat up" gag aimed at Ally McCoist on 'Question of Sport' a while back. Should we dig that clip out of the archive so we can proclaim her a sexist cavewoman? (Rhetorical question) No. If someone says something that immediately proves to be incorrect and inherently stupid, take the piss out of them. Don't sack them and make them out to be a beast. They're only fucking words after all. Edited January 25, 2011 by Cheese
Traf Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Clare Balding leaves the bog seat up too. He's a bloke in a frock.
Cheese Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) Well even if that is the case, he's still sexist, and to believe otherwise would make you sexist too. Edited January 25, 2011 by Cheese
Smiffs Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 I'm 100% sure she can do a better job than some of the shite we've gone with whistles and flags. Fair fucks to her. If she was my dowter I would be the proudest man alive seeing her run the line in the biggest league on the planet. But the fact is if I want to remind her that its coming up to tea time and she should be getting off home then I fucking well will, just like I will call the linesman a bald blind twat or the ref a useless bent cunt. If that makes me a lesser man than the next man then to be truthful I could not care a shiny shit becuase I know I dont really mean it and I'd hope she's got big enough bollocks (metaphorically of course) to stand up and prove my own ignorance. If she's going to melt then unfortunatly, the football ground isnt for her.
