jules_darby Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Steve Thompson was a quality player & looks it on that clip. A Wanderers legend who doesn't get the credit he deserves. He stayed too long Another where boo boys got on his back at the end Rather unbelievably considering he was our best "footballer" for years Quote

Underpants Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Was that the time the driver went to the wrong ground or something? I know it happened once No. That was a saturday game and that coach went to Cambridge City's ground. This one, where Dublin scored, was a night match. 3 coaches went but one must have been driven by a woman. Quote
hughmungus Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Steve Thompson was head and shoulders above Redfearn, he was one of the best passers of the ball we have ever had. I remember him having to be sold for money reasons and ended up at a bigger club ( at the time ) who where prepared to pay the transfer fee Luton Town !!. Quote

This one, where Dublin scored, was a night match. 3 coaches went but one must have been driven by a woman. Ahhh, thanks for confirming my ever diminishing memory though. I also seem to remember going to Leyton Orient one year and the match being called off as we got to their ground, so quite a few of us went to watch another match in London, can't remember who it was though Quote

jayjayoghani Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 we had to win at Gillingham the game after which was the last match of the season the days when Tony Cascarino got about 60 goals a season 1-0 Cascarino listened to it on the radio..I remember my mate drew this cartoon mockup face of Cascarino after he scored. and pinned it to a dart board to use as target practice Quote

Whites man Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 aye he did. what I remember most is his exuberant goal celebration, I thought "you twat" And on the other hand Thomo made over 400 appearances for the club, legend. Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 That Orient game, it pissed it down all day. We went on the midnight express & did Borough Market...remember Fearny sparking a Villa fan in a boozer near Euston Quote
