Jesus.

That's grim.

Unfortunately, infection is a risk with metal in the body.

My dad went for hip replacement, and never came out.

I’ve got to keep going back for blood tests every few years, I’ve had a  cobalt hip implant..bad do with your old fella, never thought that not coming home after the op was ever a possibility.😳

Recently he's been pretty mobile, able to kind of limp on crutches. One leg is 70% healed but the other leg a different story.

All that progress going back months now though as they discovered infection under one of the plates and infection has eaten into his bone and in where the breaks are, hence they haven't bonded yet.

They are now talking the plate out, chiselling infected bone away then putting bone from his other leg in there, over the course of 6 weeks and 2 to 3 ops that is.

His leg is then going in a cage thing, they are hoping he will be pretty mobile with that on as his foot sticks out the bottom. That's after 4 weeks of absolutely no weight bearing mind.

Grim as fuck. All to clean a window :(

Only just caught up with this mate. Best wishes, hope it all comes right in the end.

Perth White will confirm. Glorious time to be in Perth atm. Mid to high 20's every day and down around 13-15C at night.

Mid march to mid May. Generally a great time to be here but we did have an oddball 37C one day last week.

Horrendous mate. Absolutely sick of it.

Beginning to wonder if it's worth it.

Health issues never far away- both mental and physical- so can't drive, and now this.

Earning fuck all, with Megson laden skies and swamps for a working environment.

Total toss.

Chin up, mate.

Hopefully not too long until we see some decent weather.

Another delightful day. 60mph winds and rain.

Had a mooch with the hounds earlier.

Last one was at the base of a tree and I was just about to pass it, when the fucker broke and started to come down.

Fortunately, it became held up in adjacent trees, otherwise I may not be here!

Reckon I've had a lucky escape.

Sounds like a red top headline.

Haha.

He had it away on his claws!

The sound made him jump like a salmon.

Finally managed to report it to Bury Council. Dogshit system for such things.

My mate is the head of landscaping for Bury Council, so this will be sent to him and his team.

They have 4 lads covering the area and they have to do all the roadsides, school fields, trees and grave digging.

So don’t expect it to be a blue light situation.

some of his grave digging stories are genuinely amazing,
