Our bins were emptied. You need to ask them, if a house was on fire in the same street do they think it acceptable for a fire engine crew to just say, “Sorry, we can’t get up your street.”

The leaving boiler on constantly chat reminded me of discussion in work with chap who works on CHPs for SWW. He leaves his boiler on constantly but runs the heating circuit temperature at 35 degrees so ticks over at low flame keeping house at 20 rather than bangs on and off getting rads too hot to touch. 
 

Living with maid from Tonge Moor who dries anything won’t tumble dry on rads means I haven’t verified myself

But we're in an cul-de-sac that hadn't been gritted 

Guess the council look at what roads they've gritted and just do that rather than trying to attempt other ones that haven't

Cul-de-sacs won't be gritted.

That's why they put grit bins out.  Public meant to do their own street if its not a main thoroughfare. 

Unfortunately for Casino, the road you access his street off is notorious for icing up. Been working on it personally before now, when the binners arrived.  They couldn't get the wagon up and round.

We have one bin at the end of our estate that is supposed to cater for over 60 houses. To be fair our council does fill it when asked but it doesn't last long.

Then you should request one, perhaps involve your local Councillor.

Only lived here just over a year so for me the demand has never come up 

Our neighbours have been for years and I think they would have been on the case

Not a main road or anything

But think it's a loop route from main road and back to main road 

Ours is a cul-de-sac and on a downward route till you reach the bottom

I have a bit of a thing for a lady wearing stockings or holdups. Tights can look nice on their pins though but when they are pulled up to their tits under their dress it kind of loses the appeal.
