Is your freezer full? 😁

Heard some folk being interviewed in Leeds and they were all looking forward to a snow day.

Yeah, freezer, fridge, cupboards and emergency store are always full here in winter.

Looking highly unlikely I'll be able to get out of the village on Friday, Jnr has fuck all chance of getting to Sixth Form at Clitheroe and I won't be Carnforth-bound.

Fuck all here now. Just blowing a hell hoolie.

We get the worst weather in the NW, rains more than most winter or summer.

“We”, meaning Bolton, or Blackrod?

General area around Bolton really.

Funny thing is, I think our local weather is generally milder/gentler than other parts. We seem to get away with the more extreme weather. Perhaps as we are just before the hills?

Bloody windy overnight, mind. Surprised it wasn’t given a name.

Despite endless warnings, many stuck on M62

Fckin idiots.

it’s hard to have sympathy, though in fairness the A roads over the Pennines are closed so leaving the motorway open may imply to some drivers that it’s passable.

But still, you’d hang back a bit and see if you’d any sense

Woman on Radio Manc this morning stuck on it overnight trying to get from Manchester to Lincoln

At which point do you think “I’m carrying on in this weather” and not turn back round or at least come off at the nearest junction and find a hotel? Seems to be very much isolated on the higher ground. My car had a tiny dusting but nowt on the ground, and only took 35 mins from Leigh to Manc this morning.

Excitedly woke the kids up at 6am to show the snow outside. Its a rare occurrence over this way because of the salty air.

They were convinced it meant the day off. No lads, the stuff will be melted by 9am and it will be like a summers day :D

I don’t think it’s due to salt? I thought more that the sea is warmer than land, but my geography lessons were many years back.

Yeah, cracking the flags up in North Lancs now.

Spent a half hour digging the car out of a snowbank this morning and an hour doing the 7 miles from home to the M65, but once on the M-way, plain sailing and it's lovely here today.
