All the talk is about reducing emissions but are there actually plans in place for a hotter climate locally and globally?

To be fair that's what every climate report comes back to in its solutions. Cut emissions and speed it up now. It shouldn't really be a political debate anymore. Politicians should be facing prison time for dismissing net zero policies. Drastic I know, but that's the nature of being in an emergency, as we saw with Covid.

But aye, we've got to now accept that we're very likely heading for at least 2 degrees, even if the world suddenly gets its act together. So that means preparing for more extreme weather and mass movement/relocation of people. It's already happening I guess.

indeed, it'll be a bit longer than that though

At some point though, the Earth could kill us all off and then "start" again as it's done before - mankind might be living in space colonies then though I suppose. I reckon that would mean you'd have to increase your prices for cleaning the glass. How much for a space pods windows, inside and out, once a week?

Milky Way collides with Andromeda about same time.

Ticketmaster will charge a fortune to go and see that though.

I’m letting several thousand gallons of fossil fuel take me to the scorched Mediterranean on Friday. Fuck this.

I’m one flight down and looking at booking another before the years done. I also own a diesel van.

You’ve let Bolty fool you that I live off bean burgers and live in an off grid cabin in the woods.

Apparently there has been a 30% increase of booking here since the fires started.

Also a number of folk coming here from the med area.

No way I’m booking Europe again between June & August. I know it’s not always brutally hot, but it’s still not worth the risk.

Just can’t function at all when it starts pushing over 35 degrees & I quite like exploring the local area when on holiday.

This month 1 day without rain.

Next month is looking just as bad.

Feel sorry for people holidaying in the UK during 6 week school hols.

Always stay here. Never had serious weather issues, apart from occasionally a bit too hot.

Depends what you want. Can't be arsed lounging by a pool all day, and sometimes a cooler wetter day can make for decent walking with fewer folk about!

Same

I go to Spain as family have a place there so it's a no brainer

But give me a dismal, damp day anytime. Good for the soul

For most incessant rain on a family holiday is throughly unpleasant.

Went camping last week near Harrogate, the forecast was appalling but only had one full day of rain, the rest was a couple of nights only so it worked out well. Always a risk camping in blighty.
