Got it on good authority tonight (the ex wife schoolteacher) that school closures isn't about the safety of the kids.

It's actually more about the delicate little flowers having the hassle of getting to work and back. Why they're so special, fuck knows.

Her deputy head came round on Friday seeing who travels where and if they needed to leave early. Cant be having them getting home an hour late. Oh no.

In fairness to ex-Doris she did say it made little difference if she got home at 3 or 7 and carried on teaching regardless.

Also today, youngest dowters school was open. Caretakers and staff cleared the areas and got on with it. Eldest, a full half mile up the road was shut. Lazy cunts.

In defence of some notsoworkshy, my little lads school was open today in euxton

And I was out it the roads at 8:30 and Saw no reason why any school in chorley was closed but the majority were.

Who makes these decisions?

I certainly be questioning the their motives.

Especially if any are closed tomorrow as so far there's been no extra snow

It's bollocks.

just saw a report that some may have closed due to the fact, if they open and then kids dont come in, the attendance record absences increase thus affecting the league tables so they shut and no one comes in.

on another point, the only one of my lads today who dint make it in is from Chorley who stated he had no chance as he was snowed in to fuck and none of the roads were gritted, with your post I think he was pulling a fast one, well, with that and the fact his tracker shows his engine hasnt even been started today so obviously hasn't even tried. Not just teachers who are feckless lazy cunts!

maybe they should do what they do here in the US, when they have a 'snow day' they tag it on to the end of the school year (5 snow days and they will extand the school year by 1 week), I bet that would stop them have what is basicly a free day off

Funnily enough, that's where he was supposed to be going first.

Aye, the fact his tracker signal hasnt even showed his door opening this morning was bad enough, and the fact he knows he's on tracker and so is obviously too thick to even make it look like he tried, but now you also think he's full of shit is all the confirmation I need to say he is royally fucked :D

Wished it hadn't been.... got gubbed 14-5.... against some young uns.

I've had ours delayed till tomorrow as I was struggling to get a team. I'm sure we will get gubbed like normal. Saying that a rare victory for the team at the bottom of division 4 last week

Dragged my arse into work today. It was costing me too much to stay at home with the heating on all day, drinking my own coffee and using my own toilet paper to wipe my arse.

Is there supposed to be more snow on the way?

Make your slide on the road instead of the pavement then

Do kids still make 'skiddy patches'. I know Jazza made one in Peterborough.

Seriously though, I used to love making them in the school playground. I'm pretty certain Health & Safety means the dinner bags would be out there with a bag of grit quicker than they used to be out with a bucket of sawdust after someone had been sick.

It's probably another lost 'art', gone the same way as;

* Pulling all the seeds off a blade of grass, twisting it in your mates hair then yanking the grass out, complete with clump of hair.

* Making itching powder from rose-buds.

* Crafting Lollystick 'knives'.

* Balancing on a empty pop can with one foot, then tapping the side with your other, collapsing it.

Simple pleasures, gone forever...

In the past week travelling round Europe... Today is the first time it hasn't snowed and transport has run perfectly all the time... Yesterday in Poland there must've been 7 or 8 inches and roads, though slowish were fine
