No sentiment in football, get shut

If you put no room for sentiment in business I might agree with you, but probably not.

Football is based almost totally on sentiment every other thread on here talks about the good old days, who we 'hate', etc etc

In football sentiment is only there when it suits. Personally i think the club will stand by him. In a way the club have gone beyond the point of no return as far as this is concerned.

Lest we forget. Evans is a munich twat!

I really like the lad and can't fault his commitment

But, I'd rather we free up the wages and use them on someone who's going to play football.

I wish him all the best like.

Why do you give a fuck about his wages? Fans who moan about financial dealings are utter wankers. Unless you own shares in the club, what the fuck has it got to do with you?

Jeez, calm your skin.

Doesn't look to me like he's 'moaning about financial dealings', he's just offering his opinion that wages might be better spent elsewhere.  It's an opinion.  We're all full of opinions on stuff that doesn't affect us.

If you get annoyed by folk having an opinion then maybe a football forum isn't for you.

How long do you stick with him though? Wait another 12 months then he breaks down and out for another 18 months and so on. Either golden handshake and wish him luck or get him as a coach or scout for usa talent. Personally I think his career is over

Pains me to say it, but I agree, his career as a week in, week out player is done and dusted.

I think there's a role with the club somewhere, but I don't think it is as a player.

But I really hope I'm proven wrong (about the playing bit).

It sounds to me from that interview that his current deal runs out in July, and that BWFC have said if you can prove your fitness there is a contract in it for you,  not here's another contract try and get yourself fit.

He thinks he'll be ready by August, so we should find out soon enough. If he CAN prove his fitness I'm sure that we can all agree that it would be better for him to remain with us than go to a rival, and he is showing some loyalty and appreciation to what the club has done for him. Furthermore, he is the antithesis of Tyrone Fuckin Mears and for that alone he has to be worth a no risk punt.

If the chap at work was on the sick for 3 years and was getting paid considerably more than you, what would you do?

We're already struggling as it is to pay wages, so paying someone to get fit in America for 3 years is a massive waste IMO.

BUT, if what Traf says is true than so be it.

I more than most hope to see him in grace the reebok pitch again but I can't see it.

Hope that answers your question, wanker.

Ah right, so you're employed by BWFC? Why didn't you say that in the first place!?!

if i walked up to my boss complaining about what somebody else was getting paid, he'd probably tell me to go and find alternative employment

if only dougie had that luxury

Nice guy but time to get rid. Its not doing anybody any good hearing "Its Stuart Holdens comeback game" only for him to fall apart again.

We don't have the funds to carry players no matter how nice of a guy they are.
