Breightmet Boy Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 This whole sorry episode would be cleared up if the Sunday Sport still had it's roaming reporters, you'd think a company like Boeing would of brought the experts out of retirement to sort this little ditty out. Quote

Con Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Bit of an update: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-mh370-jet-hijacking-began-soon-after-takeoff-9194304.html Looking at the range the plane had with the fuel onboard the usual suspects come into play: http://i.imgur.com/JLo8EMh.jpg All very puzzling. For example, if you take the northern flight path of the two now being suggested, that would have taken the aircraft towards the airspace of India, and Pakistan. Now both of these countries operate their millitary on an almost war footing because of their mistrust of one another. So apparently, the aircrafts ACARS and IFF transponder had both been disabled, wether deliberate or not, but what you then have is an unidentified aircraft heading into territory that is heavily defended. This would have been tracked by radar, and a failure to respond to an IFF check would have resulted in tracking and interception. This makes this very very unlikely, as if this had happpened it would have become known at this point. Then the other, Southern route, taking the aircraft out into the bay of Bengal, into an area that is void of radar cover in parts, and containing very deep water. Ideal if you are hiding what you are up to, and making it very difficult to find an aircraft. But if the aircraft had been hijacked, why would the hijackers go to all the trouble of going to the middle of nowhere to splash the aircraft in thosands of feet of water, possibly never to be found, there is no publicity value in that. no balls Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Some ex British Airways pilot was on Sky News saying with the fuel in there and the possibilities of where it could land it could be anywhere on 10% of the planet. That's quite of an area to look I'd imagine Quote
stevieb Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Not really followed this until today, read in this and watching sky. Really does sound like Lost 2 Quote
Whites man Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 After reading JayJay's link I reckon the most likely cause is the pilot topping himself. Quote

So why didn't he just drop it into the South China Sea at the first instance? Be interested to see if he's having any issues with his employers / wife / money probs / etc. I notice Somalia is at the very end of the range - lawless country that could allow a rogue plane in if pre-arranged. Bad timing - but just seen advert for Liam Neeson's new film. Oh dear. Quote

Spider Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 It's obvious really Kim Jong Un recently ordered 40 gallons of aviation paint and a massive stencil that says "Koryo" According to the cargo manifest the hold contained 45 Chuck Norris DVDs, 500 litres of Glenmorangie and the Harlem Globetrotters. It's in Pyongyang Quote

bolty58 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 ......and what would a scooter club do with a fucking airliner? The theorists are at it down here too. Not far from some of Smileys scenarios. How the fuck would anyone re-fuel a plane on a remote island? If terrorists had taken it we would have known within an hour. They need the oxygen of publicity or there's no point. No ones mentioned remote mountain regions yet - searches seem to be completely oceancentric. If the cabin de-pressurised and the pilots were unconscious, the plane could have flown anywhere. Quote
