Pablo Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 2000km South West of Perth, if it is debris from MH370, and the Australians seem to be giving weight to this, then its no wonder its taken 2 weeks to find it. A 24m object according to the news conference, which sounds like it could be the plane. If it is then it would rule out a fire on board. Planes on fire dont carry on flying for 3000 miles. Could fire not have just 'gone out' ?? Quote
DazBob Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 What are the items? A spork and a small battle of wine, or are we talking things like wings? Quote
radcliffe white Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 What are the items? A spork and a small battle of wine, or are we talking things like wings? some expert on sky reckons wings and some technical sounding part are the only big pieces that could float Quote
Smiley Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Already the debris could be 1000km away in any direction from the satellite sighting which is apparently 4 days old. How long does it take to sail 1500 miles? Quote
Garrp Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Anyone else starting to feel like Dennis Bergkamp? Bet he's not stopped smiling the last two weeks Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 What are the items? A spork and a small battle of wine, or are we talking things like wings? Wonder if anyone inflated the life jacket inside the cabin Quote
Traf Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Anyone else starting to feel like Dennis Bergkamp? Bet he's not stopped smiling the last two weeks Not really. It's still a very safe method of transport. Quote
Smiley Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Not really. It's still a very safe method of transport. Agree. Bet we have more coach crashes around the world each year than plane crashes. Always seemed to be one or two dropping off ravines, etc. Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I reckon that's it what they've picked up by satellite, bloody shame really for the families what were hanging on hoping it had landed somewhere. Anyhow, the good news is they can now retrieve some of the parts, I suppose it's not all plane sailing though. Quote
L/H White Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Pilots gone on a mad one after finding out his wife has been getting bummed on a regular basis. Couldn't hack it anymore, so done himself and load of others in. ITK FACT, with bells and all that. Quote

bolty58 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Locals here say the breaking news is that what they have picked up is a stray sea container. We'll know more in the morning. The FBI recovering files from the captains flight simulator will hold the key here I reckon. Quote
Andydee Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Some people are getting bored/distracted.... Quote
Smiley Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Locals here say the breaking news is that what they have picked up is a stray sea container. Crossed my mind. Must be tons of shit floating around our oceans. Anyway, can't believe the Aussies have stopped looking for the day. Do they not have torches down there? Quote

Traf Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 http://wonderfulengineering.com/new-theory-about-missing-malaysian-airlines-flight-mh370-is-very-simple-and-believable/ That's the theory mooted about 12 pages ago. Mind you I thought the original title of thread was going to lead into a description of how Heather Mills keeps her leg so smooth. Quote

bolty58 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Experts reckon that if it is a wing, all the aviation fuel would obviously have gone and the air would keep it afloat for some time. Hoping visibility improves in the search area and that the Norwegian ship or Chinese ice breaker in the area can find whatever it is. Just be good to solve the mystery if they do find a wing. Then it's a question of why. Lot of scepticism here because we find so many sea containers and shit floating around. I know the oceans ore massive but imagine running into a 40 foot sea container in your 'round the world' yacht! Tony Bullimore anyone? Quote
