It technically is though, isn’t it? Sure they said it was the largest gap between 2 teams ever in the cup.

And current holders too

So I'd agree it is the biggest shock

Macclesfield F.C have got the backing of the entire Cheshire Set after Macclesfield Town were wound up and re-badged 5 years ago. They're hardly the Dog and Duck.

They’ve just narrowly beaten Radcliffe after losing to Chester and Buxton. They’re not far off dog and duck.

Anyway, if you’re a commentator then you’re not going to take into account rich people in Cheshire - you’re going to state a sensationalist fact makes you sound interesting.

They're 14th in National League North and just beat the PL holders of the cup and have never made it to the 4th round before

Go ahead and name a bigger shock

They are still mid table of National League North and have just beaten the holders. Sky Sports Soccer Saturday saying it was the biggest FA Cup upset ever too, because it is.

Stop being so grumpy 😁

Some great away followings in the cup today.

Exeter 7,800 at Citeh, Boro 4,200 at Fulham, Sunderland over 7,700 at Everton.

Both the last two had sold out their allocations two weeks ago and could have taken more.

No doubt cheaper tickets for the cup help but still good to see, it sets the cup apart from the league.

QPR apparently taking 15k to West Ham tomorrow

I'm sure "technically" there isn't one. But it's a bit like being astonished by Wrexham's rise up the Leagues, while ignoring everything that's gone on off the pitch.

Bottom half of National League North is hardly a good example buying their way up the leagues

That's why I said "it's a bit like...", rather than "it is exactly the same as...".
