Winchester White Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Surely Carr's pasties should be available. Local grub from local suppliers is the way forward. I prefer it when away grounds have a local variation on the usual stadium food. It is a good point is that, as a club we should support local businesses which in turn might result in those local businesses supporting the club through advertising, etc. A Carrs pastie on a warbies buttered barm washed down with a pint of Flat Cap? Agreed, with a pataks curry as well. However the current situation is a plot for people to sell cheap to buy crap at maximum profit levels. Hopefully this will change with new owners. leebwfc Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Burnden pie shop was amazing, used to get a few before we went in and they were still hot at half time. Hot pork pie was brill Quote

only1swanny Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Should serve local real ales in some of the kiosks. Few local pasty and pie firms with pop up stands. Would make having a tier closed barable Quote
stevieb Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I'd be all over real ales too. We'd have to have a bore in each stand telling us about the provenance of each hop whilst we sup away though. Quote
no balls Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I'd be all over real ales too. We'd have to have a bore in each stand telling us about the provenance of each hop whilst we sup away though. AKA Andy Dee. Just sup it and shut it! Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Don't know who brewed it or even if it was available in any other areas, but they had a go at selling cask ale at the kiosks in the corners of NSL last season. How long it takes to pull a decent pint isn't exactly conducive to getting rid of a halftime queue though. Quote

I'd honestly rather sup cans that the shite they serve up in the stadium, and the serving time would be virtually non-existant. Quote
stevieb Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 BYOB and pay a quid a drink corkage pints/pub measures for wine. Get a few tables out, heaters outside for a smoking area, dominoes, couple of bandits for folk to pour their wages in to. Fucking on to a winner here. It's all about alternative revenue streams. Quote
gonzo Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 If the foreign divs struggle to put a pot on a nozzle and flick a switch, good luck teaching them to pull a cask pint. Too cold for cask down there anyway. Quote
Blondi Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Great point. I'd honestly rather sup cans that the shite they serve up in the stadium, and the serving time would be virtually non-existant. I've thought that myself. I am a lager drinker and Carling is shite anyway, but BWFC decide to serve you a pint in a plastic glass (health & safety alert) and the ale doesn't budge for a couple of weeks, after most home games. Give me a can of Skol anyday! Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Happy medium would be plastic bottles; miles quicker to get served, no concerns about lobbing them on the pitch seeing as you can't take them upstairs anyway. Could serve real bottled real ales in the same manner. Would just have to make sure they're 500ml bottles at the very least rather than charging £4 for a 330ml Carlsberg. No worries about it going flat or wastage or owt either. Quote
no balls Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Plenty of other grounds offer bottles. Plastic ones obvs. Why don't we? Is it easier to collect glasses? Anyone know the reason? Quote
Horwich Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 They cant look after the hotdogs, never mind the real ale Quote

Anyone know the reason? Can't say I'm a regular in the Fanzone, but on the odd occasion I've been in there I'm sure they serve bottled Carling, so it's certainly not a brewery issue or anything along those lines. Suppose it might need some decent sized fridges, but that's hardly insurmountable. Quote
