Big City Girl
Well i have just got back from Chorley and it seems Horwich has a homeless person now sleeping in the train station. First sign there of a developing and upcoming hot spot Homeless or somebody let down by the trains? If this is true, I'm going down with an extra sleeping bag for them. I only had a five minute walk last night and my eyes were weeping with the cold. Edited January 28, 2017 by Big City Girl
deane koontz
Got mithered by a tramp who was comming out of sainsbury's Car park the other week, the bloke was pushing a bloody wheelbarrow. Does anybody know why there seems to be more homeless around these days? I say 'homeless' i'm pretty sure half of them are just begging bag heads/piss pots. Moderators Casino Posted March 22, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 22, 2017 Has anybody tried the hen and chicks recently I know it's had a clean up and they have Lancaster blonde on tap Is it leather elbow patches and beards? Where else can the discerning man about town go, other than the vaults Should I just do the fleshpots of harwood and ainsworth

Not been out for a drink in Bolton for nigh on 3 yrs though so my info is far from up to date.

DazBob
Is that what was varsity? Aye. Plenty of choice, very reasonably priced and good for sports. They keep the riff raff out at weekends too when there's door staff on.
Mixu
Tonight's Evening News is reporting 1 in 4 shops is currently empty. Not all bad news though. Occupancy at the Market Place is very high according to the centre manager........... at 76%. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/15172691._Shocking_statistics____Town_centre_among_worst_in_UK_for_empty_shops/
DazBob
Maybe on here, but maybe not, but I'm sure I've heard folk say Wigan is a good example of a town centre. That report says it's even worse than Bolton.
Moderators Horwich Posted March 22, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 22, 2017 Half those plces in the vaults will be closed within years. Ive never seem anyone in them, apart from a few in the bar and Nandos, which is usually busy.

Smiffs
We went on Sunday and it was quite busy but definitely needs another bar. Probably in place on that fast food shithole where parents were throwing chicken dippers at their disfunctional kids.

enzo gambaro
Id lose one of the restaurants and put a bar in They need to do something or its alot of money wasted Anyone selling ale in the Vaults has to buy it from Great Ale - they've got exclusive rights on proper beer down there. Like Cassie says, it's alright but it's not ace. Haven't been in the Hen & Chickens since its return but the Albion was never anything to write home about and it's the same bloke running both. Sadly, the best pint in town is in Wetherspoons. Fortunately, I have to pass Bunbury's to get there. Regarding your post yesterday about Hen and Chicken; it got me thinking that, apart from Bradshawgate/Churchgate and that end of Deansgate, there really are very few Public Houses anywhere else in the centre of town. I can only think of the Vault, Hen and Chickens,, Sweet Green Tavern, Star and Garter in an area where once there were dozens.
