Going into a pub for 5 cokes and a coffee, you deserve to get fucked over

The kids weren't driving, so half a mild apiece for them wouldn't have hurt, it was Christmas after all...

I've just walked from market place carrs entrance to the town hall square and been begged 3 times

Report back later on the return journey

Is the BHS Jungle Camp still there?

Posted (edited)

No, they've boarded off the foyer/entrance.

They're not very enterprising these harry ramps, it'd be a piece of piss to fashion some sort of beggar-flap to gain access...

Bet the pub made more profit from that than if they'd sold 5 pints. Especially if the colas came from the post-mix tap. Pennies to make, pounds to drink.

It was late, the cafe at Rivington had closed. Don't judge me!

My guess is that you went into The Crown.

If you're judging Horwich by its pub clientele, it's a bit like like judging Islam by going for a KFC with the Taliban.

Near the roundabout at the bottom of the road? I should have known to stay away from a Joey Holts pub to be fair.

All these getting accosted must have kind faces, recently I've had one beggar, once (in town), think about approaching me only to fuck it off as a bad idea...

And I was togged out like JR Ewing meets James Bond at the time before anyone starts ;).

The best bits of the egyptology collection went on a tour of the far east. It's apparently the best permanent collection in the country outside London.

Last time i nipped in the museum there were a load of old Bolton shirts hanging up in a case that used to have a mummy in it!

My cousin is on a couple of them, and an infamous former poster on here I think!

Maloneys was inbetween Life and J2, in the top corner of Nelson Square.

Nelson Square was thriving for a year or two. Mind you, Bank Street was too a few years before that with Hero's and Liberty's.

Happy times when I was in my prime.

Maloneys; didn't serve pints and you waited to be served whilst some tosser bar man pretended to be Tom Cruise in Cocktail throwing bottles around. Not real bottles mind but wooden pretend ones.

Overall not a great loss to the Bolton drinking scene.

Seem to remember (vaguely) a place around Bank Street possibly, in the late 90s there was a place you paid about a tenner or so to get in and as long as you took your empty back you got a free replacement

I used to think I was more savvy than most who would drink watered down pints as I went for bottles of Stella

Name escapes me though
