kent_white Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Aaron Collins isn't exactly ripping up trees at MK Dons. Thomason is the only player we lost that seems to have really kicked on. Santos isn't getting a game. Baxter has had a disappointing start at Watford. Of those four - I'd probably have Thomason and Baxter back. Quote

paulhanley Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Had not noticed our opponents today have loaned out Lolos to Crawley. Another weak Evatt signing. Quote

Swansea's new manager is Portuguese, which I thought may help him. I think he got a couple of games off the bench & then another injury. The last game he performed in was the 4-0 v Plymouth at Wembley when he did his groin. That's more than 21 months ago. He'll find you can't just switch it on or off. Quote

gonzo Posted January 10 Posted January 10 TSL apparently wants to go back to Chelsea and Miller has been offered a gig in MLS. We are in for the Oldham Keeper according to folk there. Quote

Buy a keeper (not hard to find one at least as good as TSL - likely on an 18 month contract) and then we can get another loan in the starting 11… “Hi Paris, fancy playing football again?” Quote

jmjhb Posted January 10 Posted January 10 We aren't getting rid of all our contracted keepers in a busy January. Quote

He won't like bring taken from the "spotlight". Think we can improve on miller but would want to keep him, seems a good bloke and we could do far worse as back up. Quote
Zog1 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) Just listened to the managers 1/2 year review, very Evatt like. The only thing i get from it is he totally misunderstands the data. His take away is we need to convert chances from the tons of opportunities, mine is that 99% of our opportunities are rubbish and we need to create real opportunities for people to convert. His solution can only mean a new striker or no10 is on the way, or both. Will it change anything, i dont think so. Edited January 10 by Zog1 Quote

Have you applied for any lower league management roles yet or are you hanging on for a Will Still type France job? Quote

This treating it as god is why Evatt turned a team of footballers into a team that could pass well. SS has won league 1 before and for some reason he's come to us and decided to play a totally different set of tactics, make it make sense. Quote

As for the winning it before - he’s got different players, you can’t just do the same thing with different players (see Amorim). I’m far from happy with how it’s going, but his conclusion that if we’d put the ball in the net when we should do we’d be much better off is completely valid. Even v Northampton, we were shit, we played awful, but we missed 2 of the most simple headers going which would have won us the game. If we have a 2nd half to the season with as positive a goals scored vs xG as our first half was negative then we go up. Quote

Young as he is, I very much doubt we'll be looking at him in a few years thinking 'we messed that up'. Quote
