If Khan lost, it might be enough to bring Miami back.
Wes Streeting’s tweet didn’t help his cause imo.

The 7 year itch would finally be over for Miami

Low turnouts being reported

I wonder how big an influence Starmer's position on Israel has had on the left-wing vote

Certainly a lot of speculation about him losing. Looking at some of the results from ‘up north’, the Israel - Gaza war has had a surprising effect.
Who’d have thought that 7 months ago. They say a week is a long time in politics.

The public statements from the Labour Party this week suggested they might've received internal polling suggesting it was closer than they expected

I'd still expect Khan to win, though, for the fact that Susan Hall is simply a dreadful candidate

TBF last time the Tories put up Shaun Bailey, ran Khan close despite the fact he was useless

Khan's time may be ticking, which could be down to the longevity of job but the Tories put up awful candidates

Yes, he'd be back saying "I told you so" no doubt. Provided if course he can get a decent signal in those Scottish graveyards

Terrible news round here. 9 year old grandson has an Italian bird on his arm. Her mother has an ice cream van (quality Italian immigrant) and has stood as an Independent on Oldham council. Lost her seat to Labour by 19 votes. Seems he doesn’t give a shit. More worried about the fact that Failsworth Villa, who he plays for, could lose their elevntyfifth consecutive game tomorrow. Boy needs to give his head a wobble and understand what’s really important

If he's 9 years old and getting free icecream off his bird's mum, he's already won at life.

The upcoming "slaughter" as you put it is nothing to do with having been in power for too long, absolutely nothing.

It's because of how they've run the country since they allowed that dick Johnson to run the party, it's been downhill ever since then.

To blame the fact it's down to being in power for a long time is ridiculous, and shows that you may be a little out of touch with the political feeling of the public, here in the UK

You and your dopey likers are way off beam (as per fucking usual). Not 'blaming'. It's a factor FFS and has been in elections within democratic countries all over the world since elections began. The best PM they ever had down here (John Howard) suffered defeat for this reason. Beyond your comprehension?

That 'dopey cunt' Johnson delivered a whopping victory. Drunk on their own power is probably another factor.

Still, you have a rosy red future to look forward too.

Just for the record, I want Sunak and his ilk to be annihilated. We don't want centrists in a conservative party. The right leaning portion to part company and join Reform would suit me. Might means years of socialist drudgery but that is what some of you deserve.

The big majority after the 'Brexit election' gave a feeling of complacency, Boris was incompetent by every measure and appointed  people with no right to hold positions in senior government. (Hancock,Dorries, Coffey etc etc).

The level of infighting has been disgraceful, they can not put forward a single radical policy as a party because at least one faction will oppose it and the complete and utter lack of leadership makes them look stupid. Every week they send MPs to appear on Question Time and it seems every week the audience are laughing out loud at their answers.

The amount of money that has been chucked at the Rwanda scheme at the expense of other options makes them look even more stupid everytime it is discussed but they are so out of touch they think it is a vote winner. Even Farage and Reform take the piss out of it.

Bolty is right they have been in power for too laugh but to suggest that is 'purely' the reason is nonsense ignoring the corruption, infighting and incompetence. The one remaining argument they seem to have is that the 'other lot' will be as bad. The left have ruined the country apparently so surely the right wing can be equally as effective when out of government ?

Good post but point out where I said 'purely'. I think you know I would not be that fucking stupid.

There have been way too many disasters. Covid will even be their fault in some dimwits minds.

A change is definitely needed. It's just that I know what is coming because I have seen it all before - and more than once.

Jesus. I'm just relieved it was a good night for Labour. Imagine the mood you'd be in if it had not gone according to plan! 😬

Fat old cunt   I still have it.

The softcock, spineless 'rhymes with Howard' only has the bollocks to fire insults from 12,000 miles and even then only when he's been on the fire water for an evening.

Purely is in the post above. 😂

Fair enough. Terrible choice of words then because I am well aware it is far more than that.

Nevertheless a factor but still, gave you a smile (and a bunch of nobheads too no doubt).

No worries, it is definitely a factor, I read an interesting article (interesting might be a stretch tbh) about how parties have a natural life cycle in power and then people want change, acts well to keep politics 'fresh'. The Brexit election that Boris won created a ripple that gave the Tories extra time in office and with the big majority has caused them more problems for them in the long run.

Politically you and I will always be miles apart but I think a strong Tory party is just as important as I thought we needed a strong Labour Party instead of the Corbyn years. But the current crop of Tories are shamefully bad with the odd notable exception.
