apparently so, I also wonder how they select which people go. If a boat lands with 50 people on it, do they all get shipped out, or do they do hold a lottery to see which of them go?  - as it'll never happen, and they know it, I guess such details don't really matter.

Again I heard somebody on the radio today saying it was a deterrent.....I'm not overly convinced, surely drowning in the freezing cold English Channel is more of a deterrent, and that doesn't seem to have stopped people attempting to cross.

If you've travelled from Syria or wherever risked all sorts, paid all sorts then put in a dingy in January in the biggest shipping lane on Europe in the freezing cold, knowing that people have died then the faint possibility of getting sent to Rwanda isn't going to stop you
