These extra measures you mentioned and that the EU has employed is adding to the red tape and bureaucracy and is not going down well in Europe with the farmers.

Farming v environment is always a balance. The UK government is doing terrible on both fronts. A free trade deal with Australia/NZ which will seriously undermine the home market and meanwhile allowing our rivers to have raw sewage dumped in them.

I don't agree with a lot of what you say, but the Australia/NZ deal does seem to be a kick in the balls for domestic farming, plus of course, the airmiles won't be helping the environment a great deal

Those 5 times delayed border checks are supposed to kick in next week.  I wonder if they will actually be implemented this time?

It'll (hopefully) be kicked down the road again, as we're not in a position to efficiently do the checks yet. The ports are already struggling, so the last thing we need is more delays, which is exactly what will happen if we do bring the checks in.

I'm sure it'll all be reported as the EUs fault either way though :)

Don't think delaying is an option this time. Shitshow incoming.

Although, many of the Farmers and Fisherfolk who voted for Brexit (and a lot of them did) have got what they deserved. They were always going to be chucked under the bus, fuck knows why they believed a word that cunt Farage said about how they would benefit massively. The Government was never going to fully support them, they haven't for decades, so why would they the second we left the EU?

Although, a lot of the farmers around here are selling/renting their land out to accommodate Solar Farms or Wind Farms......that's if they're not trying to flog the land off for housing. Perhaps Farming in this country is pretty much dead anyway (or on it's way to being so)

Splendid, coupled with the shitshow being caused by the Red Sea debacle, we could be in for a fun few months 😁

EU doing worse judging by Farmers protesting right across Europe.

I'm not sure the Germans would vote to leave the EU, I think they're pretty much OK with it.

In the ideal world, one of the other larger nations leaving just after we did is what we would have wanted (and Miami seemed to think there would be a domino effect) - as that would strengthen our hand a bit. I'd expect the Dutchers, French or Italians to be the "next to consider leaving, but I'm not sure there is much appetite for it, especially, no matter what way you spin it, our process of leaving hasn't been at all easy, and we're not tied in with a currency, which makes it very difficult to leave

Yeah but if they get rid of Rishi for A.N.Other, everything will be sorted.

Imagine if A.N.Other turns out to be that cretin Suella Braverman.......

I reckon there's a greater likelihood of the Conservative Party splitting. One half is infested with woke globalists who need to be cleared out or rather left with an option to jump in with Ed 'fuck the postmasters' Davey's shower of shit.

A realignment of UK politics. Real Conservatives jumping to the Reform ship. Well overdue.

Can't be doing with Tice.

Irrespective of his general views being aligned, his approach and attitude towards the environment/net zero etc is bonkers.

He's not alone with that neither; all a bit luddite for me.
