It’s absolutely shit that the Labour Party is taking donations from a ludicrously rich man who’s put all his cash and assets into a tax haven so he doesn’t have to pay any.

I think that's far more likely simply because the evidence suggests it won't increase tax revenues rather than anything more sinister

Absolutely not. These people don't donate out of the goodness of their own heart. They're usually tighter than a nuns chuff and don't like anybody else having a sniff of their money. Hence their reluctance to contribute to the people of the state that created their wealth
