Leyther_Matt Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Wigan RL may need a new home. BWFC may need a new income stream. As long as we don't end up with red seats. Quote
Smiley Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I suspect Ken for all his faults will do his best to ensure he hands us over to someone capable of taking us forward. Really? Not the person offering him the big pay day? Quote
Casino Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 the big pay day comes from somebody who can do what we all want i think the point made above is that foreign money is no guarantee of success Quote
birch-chorley Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 you get as many fruit cakes as you do genuinely decent owners The Wolves one seems intent on going far, the brum fella ended up inside Quote

jturner Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Newcastle surely a much better proposition? You'd think so, but then again it's 48 years since Newcastle won a major trophy and 4 years since Wigan won one. Quote

Lostock Whites Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Surely a club of our size, facilities, history and future potential, we have got to be getting our big takeover? We are obviously gonna need it to get back in the Prem Quote

We are obviously gonna need it to get back in the Prem club of our size? We are an average sized club at the best, as for future potential there’s a good chance we will be a league 1 team next year. Much better placed clubs for a takeover than us imo Quote

With citeh and manyoo so close by there's no real scope for growing the fan base.Leeds, the 'big 3' north east teams, derby, forest and even brizzle city are possibly far better options for investment. Biggish Dave Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I’m happy with being skint but hopefully being run properly. Loads of clubs will go tits up when Johnny Foreigner has had his fun Quote

As quickly as these oil billionaires became interested in football they could become uninterested. I hope I live long enough to see all these massive clubs with their foreign investors when the free-flow of money is stopped. Quote

The teams you mentioned all had Overseas investment and all got foreign owners except Bristol, Boro and Toon who I think all have wealthy English owner. Not many clubs left with better potential than BWFC and who would cost so little and do not forget we are historically top 20 rated club. Edited October 17, 2017 by Mounts Kipper Quote

Casino Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 not knocking our club but what’s this potential? its hardly rocket science - getting in the premier league Quote
radcliffe white Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 its hardly rocket science - getting in the premier league Saturday was great but it’s still going to be a slog, an investor or their advisors would still see a good chance we will get relegated, maybe keep in touch by next transfer window who knows Quote
HomerJay Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 (edited) just heard that Mike Ashley (net worth £3.2 billion) has put the toon on the market because he cant afford to compete in the transfer market. newcastle made £900k last season.... in the championship. not many clubs turn a profit so that's good going IMO. whats the tv revenue this season? £150m ? So, doubling his turnover? surely that outweighs his wage bill and therefore in the coming season, they would be able to compete? I think he's just got bored with the whole thing? Edited October 17, 2017 by HomerJay Quote
Casino Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 any team can get relegated if we were 20 points clear, the price would go up theres very little to sp[end on the ground/facilities and we are one very good season from a 100 million windfgall thats the potential Quote
