Could it possibly be that ken was actually trying to get the best deal for the club. Which meant releasing extreme statements to force the creditors hand?

As far as I'm concerned, the outcome was correct, I couldn't care less if he put some folks nose out of joint in the process.

Maybe, maybe not.

Has  KA confirmed your theory?

The outcome is unknown as the club have moved the debt from one lender to another. Eddie’s death could create more questions than answers.

Spot on. I’d wager ED was very aware of the stance KA was taking.

Iles tweeted the following which seems to suggest that indeed was the case -

So Ken saved us 200k at least or if I read Lles right it could have been more , nice job

He's paid less than the full amount outstanding to BluMarble but it's hard to say by how much.

We only have the BBC's word that Eddie loaned KA £5 million, so I wouldn't take that as gospel until it is confirmed elsewhere, as they simply could have simply rounded up the figure of the BluMarble loan (full settlement being £4.8 million).

Iles strongly suggests that the actual settlement amount was less than the £4.8 million, so somehow it does seem that KA negotiated some sort of discount on full payment.

It could be that he actually did receive £5 million with the intent of settling other outstanding debts such as Heathcote's which coincidently was around the £200k amount to settle according to the 'celebratory' chef that runs it.

One thing to note is that the loan from Eddie's Moonshift is to KA personally (not Inner Circle Investments) and so if he doesn't pay it back and Moonshift comes after it, his arse is really on the line.

I mention this because hopefully for once it might put an end to the anti-Anderson's diatribe that he never puts any of his own money into the club/he's only here to strip the club to fill his own pockets.  KA is personally on the hook for £5 million or he loses the club and walks out with nothing much to show for his (and Lee's) three years of being there.

You don't only have the BBCs word. The document that Iles article refers to is on companies house for all to see.

Just had a quick look at the document and it says that it’s a loan to BWFC.

Am I missing something?

Plenty of the Anti Ken Brigade are FBPE brigade, why does that not suprised me.

Because they're generally bellends.

If pushed for a simple yes or no, I'm pro-Europe and pro-Ken. I wouldn't use any hashtag suffix to my name on social media as that does mark you out as a dick.

Haven't seen any docs, but there is no reason why you can't have a loan to one person/entity that is a borrower and have security from a third party. Happens all the time where loans go to an entity higher up the chain with subsidiaries being asset-holding chargors.

If the loan was to Ken personally, any additional security he has given in his own name (such as a share charge) won't be registered at Companies House.

Be interested to know the clauses of the loan, perticularly the details of how / when it could be recalled

I’m sure ED deferred the other £15m until we got promoted to the PL, this £5m might be able to be recalled as and when

would be down to whoever controls ED’s estate then

There was a time limit for that loan being repaid upon promotion to the prem iirc. If promotion was gained after a certain time period then it wasn't repayable.

Someone will be able to elaborate upon that I'm sure.

I'm sure that was the case too.
