famouswanderer Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 My mates been sticking a 5er a week on france for almost 2 years now. Hes getting a bit giddy
Biggish Dave Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Pickfords save against Colombia was pretty decent too. Unfortunately not well remembered because of what happened from the corner
Burndens Bogs Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Pickfords save against Colombia was pretty decent too. Unfortunately not well remembered because of what happened from the cornerIt was going wide, if he'd left it then Colombia wouldn't have had the corner that they scored from - we'd have won 1-0. Shit dwarf cnut :-)
Marc505 Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 That montage BBC did at the start of the broadcast then, wow. Fuck they gonna do if we got to a final? More montages than Rocky IV needed to cover that!
birch-chorley Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Ticket prices for semi’s if we get there - $750, $480, $285 What about the final?
L/H White Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 I really fancy belgium tonight havent been to impressed by the french could be a high scoring one, both defences arent great imo
Guest Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Yes, I agree with Belgium. I hope we make it so we can have a first team rematch of the Group stage
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I'm sticking with France. Hoping for a mass brawl with loads of sendings off.
Duck Egg Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Should we get through I could see us beating Belgium. I just can't see us beating the French though - they look strong and good on the ball all over the park
madthatter Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Should we get through I could see us beating Belgium. I just can't see us beating the French though - they look strong and good on the ball all over the park Could you say the same about England? I think France will get through tonight but it's very close to call. Just think Belgium may have peaked too early Reckon we'd have a better chance against France than Belgium.

The French are a better unit and have more big game experience in comparison. I also feel Belgium could have a big wobble and self destruct with all of those individuals if they have an "off day".
Burndens Bogs Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 We could do with an all out war tonight in the France v Bel match - Many dead ????
jimmyjoojar Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 We could do with an all out war tonight in the France v Bel match - Many dead Certainly a few snapped legs...
gonzo Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Who is the northern guy that’s appared on talk sport? Was on sports bar last night. Sounds a bit Prestony/ Blackburn type
birch-chorley Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 (edited) The lad from Rock FM years back Jay Caterall is it? Been doing the Boxing for talk sport Edit - think he did the voice for the foxy bingo adverts Edited July 10, 2018 by birch-chorley
White on Tyne Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I have spoken to clients in France and Belgium this week, the ulterior motive being to tell them that football's coming home. They have dismissed England's chances of beating either of them, should we get the final, because we won't have played anyone any good yet. I do hope that their players have the same attitude and I would rather we played France as their arrogance might make them believe that even more.

I do hope that their players have the same attitude and I would rather we played France as their arrogance might make them believe that even more. I'd agree with them to a point but France hardly dispensed wi t'hargies like the Croats did and Belgium could well have lost/drawn to Brazil despite a very good performance. Trying to be objective about it (which is hard), England have never really looked under the cosh bar a little wobble against Columbia that most teams would have had given the way the game went I reckon. We are growing into it a bit like France and we should be a little fresher (if that counts for much in a WC final?). They are better sides but how much is in it no-one really knows. I think we're better than folk realise and our confidence is growing all the time. Not really stuck my neck out yet but should we get to the final I think we'll win it. England as underdogs, no fear, togetherness and bags of belief and talent across the pitch OK, I'm getting giddy . . .
Biggish Dave Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I gave Wigan less than a tiny chance of beating Citeh in the cup final. These things happen. Comes down to Balls or Stones Alan was 66, John this time
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Belgians could easily have lost to the Japanese too. On paper the others perhaps edge it, but neither have been ace at the back which gives hope.
birch-chorley Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 France haven’t looked amazing going forward either to be fair Apart from the Argentina game But then again Croatia looked like they had the WC sewn up following on from the 3-0 thumping they gave Argentina
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 If Fellaini killians Mbappe we'll be reet.
Zico Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 thing is, this WC is where we're at because along the way most of the favorites have been dumped out and there's been plenty shocks, so it's wide open we just need to get to the final, then who knows or it will be Belgium V Croatia, which also a bit mental when you think about it, I wouldn't even expect that final at the Euros
