Maybe he can post an article encouraging fans to question why ken hasn’t given away Walsall tickets. Despite the football association setting minimum prices for tickets. The FA set minimum pricing but clubs can subsidise discounts iirc as long as the away club and FA receive the same amount of money they would have done at the set price. But those missing a few braincells don't get that a club losing money hand over fist can't afford that. Edited December 14, 2018 by frank_spencer Quote

Big E Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Only BWFC could ban a guy who has clearly been stirring shit up and still have fans sayings its outrageous. Fuck me i hate my old fella sometimes for getting me embroiled with these inbred morons. Quote

I actually had quite a long chat with Marc at Atherton pre-season and I said I wouldn't be surprised if he got banned before Christmas. His attitude was to shrug it off. he laughed and suggested it might a good thing. This is why I've felt he was working to an agenda. He can now further stoke up the frenzy on twitter as the "bad boy", getting more clicks for that shitty rag. That's all it is now : clickbait for ads. Quote

Sluffy Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Not surprised at all - he's been completely unprofessional and obviously anti-the club owner for a long time in association with others and his personal comments and actions on social media. It's been my opinion for what it is worth the Iles believed that Anderson would be 'toppled' in recent weeks and hence his coordinated attack with the ST (The ST has been so active in years - so why now at the same time Iles went all in?) in the last two weeks or so. I think he's been badly advised by his close associates - all of whom seemed to have an anti-Anderson agenda, I think Iles has been played and not been smart enough to know it. After saying all that I hope he is still kept in a job as his superiors on the paper clearly were happy enough to let him carry on over a considerable length of time without having a quiet word with him about keeping his personal views and his professional life completely apart. Guest Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 This exactly what Iles wants. Ken you've made a blunder here. Giving him more exposure and more freedom to vent his spleen. Idiotic. Quote

It was on the cards ever since he got on the V1 bus at Tyldesley en route to Piccadilly on an away game and didn’t have any bus cans for us. Quote

Sluffy Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 It will be interesting how the Bolton News now reacts. I suspect they need the club stories for their paper than the club needs them, so I would doubt they would 'blank' the club and refuse to report on it. So I would imagine they would report more professionally on the club and certainly attempt to get both sides of a story before rushing out to a personal twitter account, then post an article (in that order), as Iles has continually done. I also suspect the ST 'views and comments' would be considerably less aired in future articles - as clearly they have an agenda against the club owner, and despite what they claim or wish to believe, are in no way representatives of Bolton fans as a whole. All this will lead to more 'boring' reporting on the club and sticking to the official club line no doubt - which isn't a good thing - but certainly better than a loose cannon shit stirring on social media, being biased in his beliefs and not really understanding financial and business workings and reality. I think Iles as been used as a conduit for staff and players at the club to express their 'personal' dissatisfaction and if he had been more professional how he validated their concerns and used their information to ask and seek clarification of 'issues' from within the club, then there would have been nothing wrong with this - it's what good reporters do - however he seemed to take these concerns at face value - without checking the context or accuracy of what he was being told - and rushed out to tweet and then write an article - because they fitted with his bias towards the club owner. He therefore has made the voice from within the club that much harder to be heard because he's been unprofessional as the next reporter for the Bolton News will not be so eager to rush to get such 'gossip' out in future. Wonder if Iles will now be swapped with another reporter - possibly the one who covers for him when he's doing the kids bedroom and such like? Quote
