I've always been a bit of a stickler for being on my own. Any day out or event I'll usually dart off even for just 20 mins just for a beer on my own.

Same on holiday, I have to get away in a morning for a run/walk/gym just to get my head together.

Trouble is it's creeping in even further, find it really hard sometimes to be extrovert in social environments. Met our kid on Saturday night for a quick hour on his works night out. Hated every second of it and could wait to get to a pint on my own :D

Anyone else have periods like this?

I'm gonna end up living on an island on my own ha

100%. I often find at say works dos, or a day/night out when loads of people are due to come, that the lone calm before the storm pint when I've turned up too early is blissful. Or there's times where a pub crawl will move on but I engineer not finishing in time so im left behind, or squeeze one in somewhere else catching everyone up.

Alone time is becoming more and more important, screen time staring at social media or a forum isn't really alone time because you're interacting in some way with other people. Sitting on your tod, either at home or in somewhere like a pub, or a cafe, or a park, or even just walking through a town centre on your bill, just gives you a break

Yeah that's why I like walking my dog, just me and him, and he doesn't want to talk to me

The best of times. I especially like getting out early to watch the sunrise over the fields behind where I live. For a very short time it feels like I am the only bloke left on the planet.

I do a lot of driving on my own for work. Fortunate really as that gives me time to straighten my thoughts.

That said, nothing beats going for a massive walk to sort the head.

Gone right off alcohol recently as well and that has definitely helped me stop worrying about allsorts

How's it going folks?

Had a few struggles the past month which came totally out the blue.

Had a few dramas in life, burning the candle at both ends, overtraining and too much ale etc on the odd weekend.

Riddled with rumination/anxiety over the past 3 weeks and had a proper wobble/panic/spazzing out thing last week.

Weird how life can catch you up.

There will be 100% folk reading thinking that's just life's worries and general feeling... which a lot is granted and triggered by lifestyle.

However it becomes an issue or health issue when it's disproportionate to what's going on around you.

There's a great Bill Burr bit about crisis management with blokes. I'm the cunt everyone rings to sort stuff out :D

Its when your head goes on a bleak Monday morning for no apparent reason and you're overthinking to the point of insanity that it's an issue :)

Managed to get a short break so pottered about in the garden, nothing much but feeling that warmth on my back was lovely.  Been a bit down since Sunday so it was a much needed pick-me-up. Funny how a bit of sunshine and peace and quiet for 10 mins can lift your spirits.

Had a meltdown a couple of weeks ago.   F-i-l with all his issues, and my lad with his caught up.

Shit sleep for 4 days and bang.

Rang the quacks, and later on a GP rang me back.

Felt a bit better by then, and we had a quick chat.

His "treatment" was to make some time for myself.

Wise words, no more drugs etc.

Slept well that night!

Good GP

Haha.

When you're fucked you reach out for anything.

I suggested to the GP that I have a week's worth again.

About 14 years since I last had them- he looked at the records.

He didn't want me going back there, and having to "come off" them.

All fair enough.

You just feel a bit desperate at the time.

I know those feels. Down to just the 4 households worth of problems since my Grandma in law passed away last year. I'm not good at telling folk 'no'

Just seen a video on twitter from a Bolton coach on the way home from port vale at the weekend young wanderers fan crying and asking an older fan to slap him and saying he wants to die anyway , lad looks worse for wear on ale/bugle.  Why on earth do folk post stuff online instead of offering the kid a bit of help.   Madness.

Saw that earlier. Looks like a young lad with some personal issues who's got absolutely spangled on an Away day. Pretty sure I was in a similar situation myself 25 years ago at Charlton - and that was after a win (Djorkaeff brace I think). We stayed down there at a mate-of-a-mates house, and I have no real recollection of anything after the match. Nobody mentioned anything the morning after, but I'm convinced I was sat on a kerb crying my eyes out whilst spewing at some point. Maybe nothing happened and it was all just a beer fear hangover? Anyway, whoever filmed that lad wants a good shoeing.

Seems like the lad is a bit of wrongun on the whole. Clearly got issues.

There's screenshots kicking about of him being sexually aggressive to school girls on Snapchat etc.

Seems he'd spent all day being a nob on the coach offering folk out then get got a bit of a slap and went hysterical.

Clearly got issues but I'm not sure it's the job of 50 pissed up football fans to offer him the support and guidance to stop acting like a mentalist bell end.

He was sniffing gear all day and absolutely paralytic. He got a crack in Walkden later on apparently.

Not sure he should be on coaches to aways trips given the state he's in.

In which case, everyone involved needs a good shoeing. Should have booted him off the coach and let him make his own way home.

Gear for some seems to be a normal night out now. Its really odd. Every time I go to a gig folks are sniffing all the way through. I just find it strange.
