So if its just a jab in upper arm why do we need medical professionals to administer it?

Get all these volunteers and folk on furlough on it.

I was thinking that. Can't be hard to train up folk to do that? My mate's nipper has been giving herself insulin shots since she was about 6.

They need to ramp it the fuck up of we're every going to approach normality again

Or of course vaccinate by area based on economic output. We must have those stats. If an area is full of dole dossers and old cunts who just take from the pot and always have been a drain then they should be last.

high earners and higher rate tax payers first thank you.  Right you keep going and keep everyone else afloat.

makes sense if you think about it

So you think the Met Police have the resources to throw up roadblocks on thousands of miles of roads around london? Whilst also dealing with crime?

It is currently impossible to enforce a travel ban and you’re bonkers if you think it is.

Burnley have 12 police covering nighshifts - mate of mine is one of them.

I don’t like it either, but this will go on for another year if something dramatic isn’t done.

Another year, behave

If the vulnerable aren’t vaccinated by the end of February then something has gone very very wrong

By which time, it all needs fucking off anyway, NHS collapse or not.

I don't know why they wouldn't do that, now you mention it, that's a great idea. Fuck doing it by age, do it by contributions, first and then by post code.

It makes absolute sense.

ok Joan you’ve never worked a day in your life, claimed every benefit under the sun, knocked out 5 kids to 5 fathers and they’re all scum too. Here’s a vaccine to protect you so you can get on your mobility Scooter and sit in the pub all day smoking 40 fags without fear of getting ill.

whilst your doing that we will lock the hard working higher rate tax payers down.

something far wrong here

If only they had prioritised the whole thing based on economic contribution rather than protecting the vulnerable

The NHS would have collapsed but we would have the money to rebuild it. Instead we’ve saved the NHS and will now fuck it over for decades with a smaller budget

Same with folk who’ve been furloughed. You’ve drained the public purse and had a free holiday last summer. Think you can wait a bit longer for your freedom what we sort out those who ploughed on and kept the wheels turning.

Last time around there was help mortgage breaks etc so unless that’s introduced again  folk can’t just take time out especially the self employed

I was on furlough for 3 months certainly didn’t ask to be put on and also made efforts to get a new job as it was doing my head in

Does not just have to be met police, other forces in neighbouring areas have there forces, you can also bring in the army to help.

Run the numbers, it's impossible.

The idea is sound, fully support it. But the resource doesn't exist.

I just want rid of it and right now there are 2 sever options. Mega lockdown or just fuck it all off and let people take a chance on suffocating to death on a Nightingale car park.

My wife had the vaccine yesterday.  The medic doing the jab was very inexperienced and went too high giving her a dead arm last night.  She is not complaining and is very grateful to have had it.  It just shows that they are using all kinds of staff in this operation.

Surely a 4 week lockdown can really squeeze this to a manageable level? But close everything - schools, businesses, the lot.

Except hospitals, pharmacies, doctors and supermarkets.

By all means have plumbers and sparkies ready for emergencies.

Beyond that, we just have to put our joggers on for 4 weeks and pretend we are evading German bombs.

it’s four fucking weeks.

After that, mass vaccinations, mass testing, mandatory masks, distancing etc for a month.

Then its March and we can start to plough on.

and if it still doesn’t work, then fuck it, we go for herd immunity and risk it.

Problem you've got is, as soon as the numbers go down you'll have people declaring that it's over and the virus is never to return. How many people on here didn't think there would be any second wave?

Then you rush to open back up and the whole thing starts again.

It's like a horror movie where the characters convince themselves the killer has just fucked off and left.

I still can't understand why people thought there wouldn't be a second wave, I think that all the science was saying there would be. At what point was there any indication that this was going to go away and not be seen again after August?

That’s bollocks though isn’t it

It would be true if we weren’t rolling out a vaccine, but we have 1 already getting circulated with more to follow very soon

So in reality the end game for all this bollocks shouldn’t be more than 8-12 weeks away (15m get vaccinated, 99% of the risk goes away)

If you locked down in January to a certain extent (similar to November) then by the time the end of January is here at least 5m should have been vaccinated, meaning half of the risk to the NHS has gone

You could open us all up in Tier 1 or 2 from then and the NHS wouldn’t collapse, job done

I admire your optimism, but I think you might want to almost double up on those timescales, and take them to 14-16 weeks away, I really do (I'm basing that on us not having any serious quantities of vaccine until into February though, which of course we don't really know if we will or won't yet)

If we haven’t got 5m people vaccinated by end of January then it’s way off what we’re they saying a few weeks back

Get 5m vulnerable vaccinated, get us all into Tier 1 or 2 whilst the other 10m vulnerable are being sorted

Surely those first 5m can be done by Mid February latest?
