Expected mention of the profs words to the select committee today

Home testing kits days away

And therell be millions of em

Game changer

Sounds good.

Be useful too- I've had a tickly cough since new year, was talking (at a safe distance) another dog walking couple earlier. A couple of little ones slipped out, and the bloke was immediately shuffling. He couldn't wait to do one! :)

Andrew Cuomo (who is NY state governor I think) on Sky News now, reckons they need around 140K hospital beds (currently have 53K) and 30K ventilators (currently have 4K, with a further 7K on order in the next few weeks.) - he said they need to get to those numbers in 2 weeks, as that's when they expect the peak  -  he didn't look very hopeful if truth be told

They really might end up being well and truly scuppered as it took them far too long to acknowledge the virus was a real thing, let alone quite a serious thing.

Heard on the news last night there's around 28,000 people per square mile in NY. Absolutely crazy numbers.

If they work then yes - absolutely. Particularly if they tell you whether you have the antibody. Placing a lot of trust in the general public if we are just allowing anyone who says they've previously tested positive back outside! People will be flouting it left right and centre.

Just hope we're sensible about this and it goes to front line NHS workers first. Then pans out rather than just a free for all. That could be a disaster.

This is the only real way we'll get out of a perpetual lockdown though - barring a vaccine. Find out who has been exposed and then do a staged return.

Seems a bit rushed though!

Suggestion from the commentator that its not rushed

Hancock been dropping hints for a while

Prof said merely awaiting final approval

Mrs casino will have to take my blood, though

Take your point that its a shame folk cant be trusted to be honest re the results

If we could, the country would be up and running much more quickly

Can anybody's help with this

Got told off work I'm in the vulnerable list which the government sent so I should get 80% of wages

This morning I got a call saying I need to send them the letter which the NHS will send me so they can claim it and if I don't receive one I'll be on ssp is this correct

I understood it to be that you could claim 80% if you where on the vulnerable list without the letter from NHS

If your workplace can’t operate due to the virus you get 80% as I’m led to believe

The vulnerable list isn't anything to do with the 80% directly I didn't think.

Your employer would have to furlough you wouldn't he?

Fucked if I know to be honest.

You do need to be furloughed

Which is a posh word for temporary redundancy

Legally, you cannot do any work for your employer while furloughed

They are shut  for 3 weeks but they are saying I've still got to be off for 12 weeks on ssp unless I get the letter

Surely if I don't receive this letter I'm allowed back in Work after 3 week

I guess its up to you whether you want to do the isolation

If you choose not to, you present to work

They either furlough you, govts preference, or they do down redundancy route

Not sure why theyd choose the latter

Also, why cant you go to work sooner than 3 weeks

If they are shut, its not your problem

I would rather play safe and do the 12 weeks (even though it will drive me insane)but I've got a suspicion they could use this as a way to get rid  due to health problems

Could be a bit of scaremongering or hysteria but it put the frighteners on us.

It'll be reet

think this photo made me laugh the most in all this.

i also remember when  they put ebola infected nurses on regular passenger planes so seeing the GOV go batshit at folk outside without a tapemeasure is a bit much.
