Tics? Wigan have been a ‘thing’ for a number of years now. Not a big thing, in fact for the most part, a seriously small thing. 
I’ve worked in Wigan with a Wigan supporter and I’ve worked in Bolton with a Wigan supporter (They were the same person, I think) and I never once heard anyone refer to them as ‘tics’, not once. 
Wigan, BigWig (ironic humour) Latics, were all used. Tics? Not once.

I think they just nicked it off Oldham a few years ago tbh. Wigan don't seem to have much of an identity so they steal other peoples, a bit  like they try and be us by signing virtually every ex Bolton player and building a cheapo copy of our stadium. Tics my arse.

Literally the last few years, since they last went back up from League One I think. Certainly wasn’t a thing when I worked there for a little over a decade.
