Stop using Christmas Day as some way of appeasement to the backbenchers. People are pretty much locking down themsleves anyway to make sure they can see aunty nora on the 25th. 

This leaving to the last minute is bloody frustrating and helps no-one.

In fairness, omicron is growing a lot. Its the overall numbers that aren't growing massively, which suggests the new one is indeed replacing the delta one in the main.

Which might be a positive in the long run.
