Exactly. Plenty of examples openly spoken about on here.

Don't get me wrong I see your point, it's made me chuckle a few times on here people pontificating until there was a chance they might not be able to go for a pint, on holiday or worst of all to the match.... Then they suddenly start to waver 😁

Well that's not true is it,now There is, we won't lockdown in the short term (ie two weeks) or we will.

I'm not sure where the defense of this is coming from.

This drift is stopping business already, if we know the timetable, people can plan. Save money, cut costs.

Why are folk so keen to let the politicians off the hook on this one.

As I say any decision is better than none.

Decisions have been made

Folk complain about the Welsh and Scottish measures but at least they have been clear.

Clear, but wrong

There will always be a small percentage of feral fuckers who ignore any authority just be cool but in general I think most people did better than Boris.

He should have been squeaky clean. He wasn’t. Was he worse than most people overall? I doubt it.  Just that our indiscretions aren’t newsworthy pal.

For me this is exactly the point. Biden, or more importantly those advising him, are a safe pair of hands.

Our PM has surrounded himself with folk just like him, like Trump did for the US.

Folk complain about the Welsh and Scottish measures but at least they have been clear.

Thing is they aren’t clear up here really. They are coming out with the same rhetoric around it’s a day to day moving feast and nowt is off the table. Yes they’ve limited sports events up here but other than that they’ve done nowt else that we didn’t have. Unless I’ve missed something?

genuinely people are trying to find fault with what Boris has done here. What’s he’s actually done is what most people wanted and hoped for.

Also I'm still working, as is my Covid plagued other half, because of this farce. She's got press requests for statements up the wazoo, I've got a ton of activity to shift around.

I wonder if I'll get a nice cheese and wine party after we've finished?

At least your Mrs is up and about working.

Mine milked it and made me pull my weight around the house for a week the selfish cunt.

I'm not bothered if he keeps everything open or locks down.

I want clarity. This isn't, and just saying nothing until next Monday doesn't help.

To be fair, they have kept some of the more sensible rules all along after freedom day down here.

I just can't help but think we will end up behind the curve yet again. I hope I am wrong but past experience isn't great.

He’s left things open. But it’s subject to change.

if he had closed everything and said it was subject to Change would you have been happy? Genuine question?

I get that. But we’ve had restrictions since the outset and yet in the summer Scotland was the covid hotspot of Europe despite this. This to me is when the penny dropped.

until we get a variant like this hopefully what spreads and weakens and blows itself out whatever we do is merely delaying the inevitable.

I believe we will come out of this sooner than anyone else whilst maintaining more freedoms throughout  thats a win for me

I think most folk do.

I will be doing one on Christmas day morning though before we go.

That said, if folk do test more regularly, and find themselves positive whilst unsymptomatic, then that's no bad thing neither.

Ultimately, that is what the lfts were developed for- detection in the unsymptomatic.

Fair points

end of the day folk do what’s best for themselves

Hospitalizations and intensive care cases are still among the lowest per capita in Europe, but have also begun rising.

As I have said, anything subject to short term change is really unhelpful.

Either would be better than this, because I can then actually plan. I'm not asking for six months but a two/three week plan announced now would be very helpful, either way.

Things being shut, doesn't mean I can't still shift tickets for next year and if it helps give people confidence good, if they say there is no need to lockdown, again even better.

The problem is with this hinterland of nothing for a few days is that confidence is through the floor. No one, customers or clients is moving on anything.
