I never said don’t if you feel rough I would myself, I’m on about folk who test for the sake of it so don’t complain if you’re isolating over Xmas

I'd only be testing if either I felt rough or if living with someone who had it.

I think most folk do.

I will be doing one on Christmas day morning though before we go.

That said, if folk do test more regularly, and find themselves positive whilst unsymptomatic, then that's no bad thing neither.

Ultimately, that is what the lfts were developed for- detection in the unsymptomatic.

Genuine question. I know Mounts admitted to being pinged and deleted the app rather than isolate.

Has anyone tested positive and cracked on?

I bet there is.

Thank you Mick - someone finally who refers to the twatface not using 'Boris' like he's a daft mate not a poisonous hybrid of viper and weasel.

I'm being polite. I normally refer to him as cunt

There's an argument to be had that if it wasnt for the testing nobody would have a clue the thing exists. Its winter, people get ill and the NHS is the news every year without fail how its on the verge of collapse.

You can't go around saying stuff like that ffs! 😁

I’m with this. In reality he can’t win can he. He locks down folk will moan. He says from 27th we lock down folk moan. He says let’s see how it goes folk moan.

as I said above leave things open. If people want to go out they go out take the risk. If they don’t they stay home.

We now know we will get through it we’ve done it before. We know much more than we did at the onset so let’s crack on for me. If I get it I get it and I isolate.

common sense

If people thought the buffoon & his fluffers had just enough intelligence to even attempt to follow their own rules they might accept his decisions with a tad more grace.

Might have been better spent funding the NHS then we could all get on with our lives & I'd guess a billion will be a drop in the ocean when shared around the amount of businesses that actually survive compared to the money lost.

How much is enough on the nhs though?

A shit load more incoming and a load extra already spent.

There will always be an argument for more, with some justification, but folk will vary in their view of what level of service should be available, and also how much tax should be paid to fund it.

I had a chat recently about this: I'd like to see more docs (you'd ones in particular) available in a&e for example, so that waiting times are much lower. Utilising any 'slack' times for research/reading to help with career development and specialisation later.

I do understand that has cost implications though.

The nhs has become a victim of its own success, and sooner or later we more have to confront some truths, and decide if we want a higher tax economy, or a medical service that is excellent but slightly streamlined in what it offers.

@Not in Crawley

the only “certainty” option is lockdown.

Which would you prefer;

Lockdown + no business

or

Uncertainty + some business?

Well that's not true is it,now There is, we won't lockdown in the short term (ie two weeks) or we will.

I'm not sure where the defense of this is coming from.

This drift is stopping business already, if we know the timetable, people can plan. Save money, cut costs.

Why are folk so keen to let the politicians off the hook on this one.

As I say any decision is better than none.

That's as may be, but doesn't make anyone else behaving in a similar way any less cunty.

It's not like they're the only one neither.

It needs streamlining & is top heavy with 'clerical' staff imo but I'd rather see my taxes spent on health & law & order than on defence & foreign aid.

It actually does make them less cunty than the man who can't follow his own rules! He is the King of cuntishness.

Fair play.

I'm not so hot on foreign aid neither. Not because its "wrong" but we hear stories of wastefulness at the other end, and also because, as you say, we could strengthen at home.

Politically though, it seems cutting it long term is tantamount to shooting yourself in both feet.

Certain folk weren’t following it at the outset Ronnie let be honest.

Not for me.

If you know its wrong, it's still wrong irrespective of whoever else doesn't.

We're all citizens of the same nation with the same fundamental protections and responsibilities under law.

For once Im backing boris on this. He announces lockdown on the 27th there would be fucking carnage across the country. Piss ups and street parties all over the gaff. Remember that first time they shut the pubs and gave us all 6 hours notice, they were packed to the rafters.

Play it by ear is the best way imo. Better than cancelling Christmas.

Gives chance for the booster to catch up and a second week of people not at work and kids at school.

Good shout Gonz

There will always be a small percentage of feral fuckers who ignore any authority just be cool but in general I think most people did better than Boris.

Just watching Biden on Sky news, could send me to sleep that guy, but so much more clearer than Boris when the country needs leadership.

For me this is exactly the point. Biden, or more importantly those advising him, are a safe pair of hands.

Our PM has surrounded himself with folk just like him, like Trump did for the US.

Folk complain about the Welsh and Scottish measures but at least they have been clear.
