My Mrs did some freelance work which paid for Christmas. I got a job after a week because I busted my chops to look for one and then worked to.build up my new place. Also, I'm really, really lucky. All my family who were working gave us money each month to make up as much as they could. I know I'm lucky but furlough was not a nice place to be. Uncertainty, then redundancy, then job seeking. Got mates who still at Tesco, trying to find other work. These people aren't shirkers. Quote

I know some through friends of friends etc. However as much as I used to think the country was awash with them, they really aren't. Most of us want to and do indeed work. They are a larger minority of lazy cunts than I would like for sure but not like the Daily Mail would have us believe. Quote

stevieb Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 My Mrs had 2 periods of furlough when we didn't need it (i.e not when her industry was busy in lockdown one. Followed by redundancy. She had a breakdown day after boxing day last year. So everything I'm saying is in jest. Quote
