I suspect tomorrow is the day they announce the restrictions, that will only come into force on 27th

Which is a pisser, as I'm supposed to be on a top tier corporate at The Emirates all day, which would have been a fucking great sesh

Top tier corporates will be exempt.

They have to recall parliment, so I doubt there will be anything pre-xmas. Although could be totally wrong. Had a meeting with an ALVA (Association of Leading Visitor Attractions) rep (who gets some updates from Cobra etc as it's the biggies with over 100k visitors a year - Shard, Harry Potter - that sort of stuff) who mentioned a cabinet meeting on xmas day for a boxing day announcement, but that could be total bullshit.

I suspect it'll be 30 people at an inside event, table service, two households that sort of stuff.

And, probably most importantly on here, football behind closed doors.

Previously, haven't they announced this stuff 'subject to Govermnent approval' which has always been a formality so no reason to expect it to be any different? Could even vote remotely I suppose?

I'd think any recall of Parliament or vote would be done remotely, so could be organised very quickly.

We'll get the Boxing Day games in, then they'll lock it I reckon

Or not, in our case

Yes sorry, I was taking about England.

I still find it bizarre that England, Scotchland and Wales all have different rules

Devolved administrations trying to show they have some semblance of power. Then In the case of the pro independence SNP beg Westminster for money , which was granted , to help them get through it. Strange way to reinforce the pro Indy campaign eh

They'll end up broadly similar in the end, it's just Westminster habitually seem to be last in announcing these things, and it was only really 'Freedom Day' where there were particularly vast differences.

Surely for football, why not just order the  closure the concourses? Once you're in the ground you go to your seat?

Obviously it wasn't for football as the season had ended by then, but attending RL games between 17th May and 'Freedom Day', concourses were indeed closed, masks everywhere (including in your seats), crowds were limited to 10,000 or 4,000 depending on capacity and you had to sit within your 'rule of six'. No away fans at any clubs who had big enough crowds to fill it with their own. Pretty joyless tbh.

That sounds utter dogshit.

It can but to do it before xmas they had to do it on tuesday - they can't just send a round robin email, takes a bit of time as they have to follow the protcol for recalling parliment.

Are there any stats available that break down the hospitalisations and deaths by vaccinated and unvaccintaed?

I was told this was on the government website, but not from what I can see.
