If you give a couple of billion people a jab - then a few of them - possibly even a couple of thousand of them (maybe more) are going to die of unknown causes on that particular day. That doesn't mean the vaccine has caused it. It means those people would have died of unknown causes anyway. If you want to prove that it's the vaccine - then you need to show that the background level of unknown deaths is statistically significantly higher is the people that had it, in comparison to a similar control group who didn't have the vaccine. That's the scientific case. Then you need to show that the number of people harmed or killed by the vaccine is significantly higher than the number who would have been harmed or killed by COVID. That's the medical case. Then you need to argue that we shouldn't protect the most vulnerable by vaccinating everyone anyway (which shouldn't be too hard if if you've proved the first two). That's the ethical case. Conspiracy theorists claim to be open minded - but in reality they are some of the most narrow minded people you could ever want to listen to. If something doesn't conform to their preconceived conclusion then they ignore it. They go around anomaly hunting. And then fixate on the anomaly. My Dad broke his finger the day after he had his very first COVID jab. That doesn't mean vaccines cause finger injuries. But if he'd had a heart attack instead - nutjobs would be jumping up and down trying to tell me that it was the vaccines fault. We've inoculated billions of people for COVID. If there was a significant risk then people would be dropping like flies, all over the shop. It's one of the most amazing stories in health. We managed to pull ourselves out of a pandemic as a species through science. And yet some folk know better! 🙄 Incidentally - if you want to see the consequences of conspiracy theories - keep an eye out for measles. It's making a comeback having been pretty much eradicated. Mainly as a delayed reaction the the MMR conspiracy theories about 10 years back and a load of children's parents choosing not to give them the jab out of fear. And it can be a VERY nasty illness.
