It was. Not a pull, a tweak or a tear. A full on, traumatic, rupture. Have you ever seen one ? The tendon is the very hard thing you can feel behing your ankle/foot. It holds your calf in place. If it ruptures the calf simple slides southward like a huge jelly.  It's a horrible sight.

Other tendons by the knee & foot are damaged. It needs a complete rebuild.

Hopefully all the important first teamers pick up some niggles in pre-season so that they don't have to play any of those pointless training sessions/friendlies at Loughboro Uni or wherever! 

Baxter especially can go on holiday till August as far as I'm concerned 😀

It’s a little known club tradition all the players names go into a tombola before the start  of the season and at least one is allowed a full 12 months off with pay with a made up injury

Nope - I disagree. We didn’t get promoted because we threw away points against lower half teams - perhaps because the players believed their own hype and expected to win instead of working for it.
