  3. “It has always been a long-term plan but there seems to be a short-term debate,” he said yesterday. “I think that’s pretty unfair. I don’t remember any debates last season, except around Ken Anderson. Plenty of people suggested Parky should be sacked.

  5. Lost my old fella two years ago on Easter Saturday. He'd been very poorly for ages , and the consultants in 2015 said we should put him in a home, as he required carers 4 times a day. We told the hospital to fuck off and we would mind him no matter what. Took loads of time off work to care for him in between the carers calling, as he went from being a big tough old boy to very vulnerable and a shell of his former self. Cost me a small fortune in lost wages, but I'd do it all over again When he finally went, he was fully aware of what was happening but didn't want operating on again and made the choice himself to be given meds to make him comfortable..he even asked how we'd gone on at Leeds on the Good Friday, I told him we had won 7-0.....he replied in his inimitable style "Bollocks, I'm dying not thick" 😂😂 Held his hand until he went in the early hours of Easter Saturday morning......fucking heartbreaking, but so glad I stayed with him right to the end 😊❤

  6. No danger. Pompey would take whatever allocation they were given for old trafford in that scenario. And Salford simply couldn’t muster 10k even got old trafford. Not a chance. Maybe if they were playing united in the cup but not in that trophy not a chance. you really need to get over this idea you have that Pompey don’t have a very very strong support. It’s evident a number of times now and it’s simply nonsense

  8. It’s gone beyond remainers and leavers now. I was and am a remainer but I’ll back our government now to get the best trade deal possible. We really all need to move on. Political bias will always influence people’s opinions but too many people are looking to undermine our position and back the Federal EU.

  9. My grandad was bed-ridden in horrendous pain from cancer of the spine in a downstairs box room that had been converted for him. Luckily the local GP in a village in rural Yorkshire was happy to send him to a better place after requests from my mum and grandmother via an increased dose of morphine. When my dad lapsed into a permanent state of sleep and feeding had been withdrawn at Bolton Royal 10 years ago my mum wistfully wished that she could do the same to him. Sounds incredibly harsh but is it a bad thing?

  10. Do you not think that the EU (the bureaucrats) are also being confrontational? It’s all part of the negotiation game. Meanwhile we have a good relationship with individual EU countries because at the end of the day, trade will continue. It always has and always will.

  12. I'd be massively surprised if he gets sacked before the end of whatever contract he's on (assume end of this season at least) purely because we've not got any money to employ a replacement. We need to face facts - Hill has got a massive job on his hands. We've got a poor squad, and the U23 team backing them up are having a mare (have you see the U23 table, we are bottom by a mile. 4 points from 19 matches, -49 goal difference) A couple of weeks ago I watched our U23's with Alexander, Brockbank, Bunney, Delaney, Senior, Mellis all as starters get smashed 3 nil by a Wigan team of mainly 18yr olds with 2 senior caps between them. the road is long.......

  14. He simply must go. Poor on every conceivable level. I hated the awful negative football but at least Parky had some dignity. This guy is a cringing embarrassment to himself and, more importantly, to BWFC. I've never heard so much utter shite from a manager in all my life.

  15. Seasonal Flu kills around 0.08% of those it infects, (UK, annually). Covid-19 currently kills around 2 - 3.4%, with the potential for it to drop below 1% once we have a better idea of how many people have really been infected. Seasonal flu has a transmissibilty rate (the average number of people that 1 person will pass the virus on to) of 1.3. Covid appears to be more like 3. The flu vaccine and the ability of the health services to treat those with serious complications from flu, helps to keep the mortality rate relatively low. There is no vaccine yet for Covid, and in some countries up to 10% of infected patients are presenting as serious enough to require Medical support. Therefore in areas where the amount of patients presenting with serious complications exceeds the amount of ICU /respiratory support/oxygen beds/antibiotics to prevent sepsis - mortality rates will be higher than average, and vice versa To summarise, all the figures show that Covid is more easily passed on, makes a higher % of the infected seriously ill, and kills a higher % of the infected than seasonal flu. Therefore the ability of preventative measures to reduce transmissibillity rates will be vital in reducing the mortality rate, by enabling the health services to treat more of those who require help, and providing more time to develop a vaccine. The best way of reducing transmisibility is isolation and quarantines, restricting travel, gatherings etc, plus higher personal hygiene standards. This is going to happen in various areas across the world, and we have no idea which areas yet. I expect that we aren't going to see the full impact of this virus until/unless it takes hold before a vaccine is created, in a very poor, large population. India, Pakistan, South America and sub Saharan Africa are at great risk, the infection and death rates are going to grow there much faster than what we have seen so far

  18. Nah Flitcroft would be gone as well for me, peas in a pod those two. Either give it the manager you intend to be in charge next season as well or give it to Lee or Phillips until the summer, get some of the young lads back in and get us playing some football at least.

  22. About this time last year I was happily minding my own business at Middlebrook putting my shopping in the car boot and saw a blonde guy and his family getting out of the car next to me - was Per and his family. Was absolutely star struck but he was a really nice guy. Said he was over for a game. Great memories of his time at the club.
