Hi all, I posted a few weeks ago now about my dad who contracted covid whilst at the woodlands hospital. Sadly dad didn’t make it and passed away a couple of weeks ago. We got the opportunity to spend a couple of hours sat with dad in the couple of days leading up to his passing only due to rules being changed a couple of days previously. If anyone could see one of their loved ones fighting for each breath they certainly wouldn’t be taking social distancing anything but seriously. What was very clear was the absolute care the nhs staff gave to dad. When I arrived for my final visit, the nursing assistant who was sat with him was on the verge of tears at his condition. They couldn’t do enough for me or dad. We couldn’t be with him when he passed but take great comfort knowing that in his final hours there was someone sat with him at all times. The frontline staff in the nhs are unreal. Blondie and Kent I know that is your job so please accept my gratitude on behalf off all your colleagues. Best in the world. I really hope none of you get to witness how amazing they are over the next few weeks or months. Dad wasn’t in the best of health anyway so he’s no longer suffering and we have a lifetime of memories to fall back on. Promotion party at Elwood in 1978 as a particular highlight. please stay safe

Fucking loads of people have had a shit 18th, 21st, missed their wedding, not been able to attend funerals... No one aged 45 wants a party to celebrate their 45th... Go over and kick them in the cunt, when it's safe to do so.

I like Starmer's line that target's are not a strategy. Target's that are met on an arbitrary day to avoid wider scrutiny and then drop away, even less so.

Amazing day and night, the best ever. Never thought a home game would ever trump some of the experiences we've had at away games or abroad. That photo of Wilbraham connecting with the header should be a huge black and white image in the entrance to the stadium, transcript of Dearden's commentary should be on a long banner between the two tiers of the East Stand. Those two pitch invasions really made the stadium feel like ours, after so many years.

Just been asked by a friend's wife to go over and celebrate his 45th birthday tomorrow. Whilst she was clear that she wanted the families to social distance I still told her we won't be going. If others see us having a party on their drive then inevitably that just makes them want to do the same. Some people are having a truly horrible time right now and I don't want to contribute to it carrying on a second longer than it needs to. People need to stop being so fucking selfish. Just stay the fuck at home.
  7. Im surprised it was not a song by the WHO. I don't want anyone to get CV19 but I will make an exception in his case. The US is going to be will and truly fucked in the coming months, he himself who was banging on about 60,000 dead (and as we've blown thro that) hes now talking 100,000 to 120,000 dead , which is what is doctors said would be the low end.

Same to you mate. I’d seen you mum passed away recently too. She lives on in you. One of my favourite song quotes ever is apt at times like this. “There is a light that never goes out” - keep it burning mate

Why? This is exactly the time not to give it a rest.
  12. Good luck with it and hope it turns out positive for you, been through it myself in normal times and it wasn't a great thing.

Because the government is not up to the job.
  14. decided to go the other way, and rather than not drink (which I've not done since early March anyway), I'm going to drink every day until either I can go to the gym, or my daughter can go to nursery to celebrate just got a 3.5 pint growler of Verdant from my local bottle shop, plus some weird beard, amundsen and track numbers
  15. I agree completely. Empty the shit including onions and get a promotion drive underway next season whenever that may be!!

My lads first game was Wednesday away when he scored in injury time. He instantly became his hero as he was "launched about by randomers". Forest at home will live with him forever. Its why we go to football.

I'd rather do his job than hers. If what she asked is 'political point scoring' (and inherently bad), then you might as well not bother questioning the government at all. Just sit back and let them tell you that we're smashing all our targets and everyone is looking at how successful we've been.

And they're supposed to be the smart lot? What a bunch of grubby scruffy c*nts... Still, to be expected in an era where you wiped your arse with newspaper, your choice of bathing was limited to a tin bath with 2" of water from the kettle or going to the swimming baths and your 'threads' were bought on the never-never and were 'washed' in a zinc tub in the backyard.

In that case, shouldn’t that read “former mate”? Still get chills when I think about that day.

So is the death total made up? Or are we the only nation reporting all deaths from CV? Maybe our lockdown Lite hasn’t been a massive success? I don’t know, as the info comes from all angles. Have 32,000 died from the virus? Or is it nearer 50?

And the good thing about that is we can start now rather than having to wait till it's all over

I'm just happy we don't have sets of twats congregated outside government buildings shouting about Freeedom and Libeerty. Like our shit for brains cousins across the pond. We have had a few moon men twatting 5g masts but you can do that while social distancing so it's reet 👀
  26. replies on this 🤦🏼‍♂️
  27. I succumbed to an Xbox one the other week. Fifa daft although I’m shit. Call of duty as well but I also love the old games. Remember frogger? Or am I showing my age here?,
  28. Garp sold his car to go on holiday, didn't he? But left his passport in the car he sold, I think. Oli also complained of being too hot in Greece in August whilst wearing a tank top
  29. 😂😂👍 met some decent lads on hear some I class as real friends now
  30. I noticed three posts from Victor last night, probably whilst half-drunk on his own product, in three different threads, taking sly potshots at craft ale... One can only deduce that the Goliath likes of AB Inbev and Diageo are utterly shitting their britches at the new competion from the David beardy hipster types and their microbrewery output. They must be or they wouldn't be trying to jump on the bandwagon (AB InBev acquiring Leffe or Diageo creating Hophouse 13, for example)... I'm not a craft-ale twat either (just a twat) I can take it or leave it and think there's loads of grapefruit piss out there - I just want to remind everyone of Victor's vested interest. 😉
