Why do people keep saying this, that we can’t compete financially? We’ve spent more than we’ve ever done at this level and I’ve no idea if we can spend loads or not but I’m going to suggest you can’t possibly know either.
  2. It's your round? No it isn't. Yes it is. No it isn't. Yes it is. Prove it. Prove what? That its my round? See, you just said it's MY round. On the wingers I loved Johansen on the right and Sellers on the left. Frandsen and Jensen in the middle was a fantastic midfield that really should have got us out of tier 2.

I don't think he has the ability to be a decent winger.
  5. Am I allowed to put this one on here? Pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. Some folk definitely need to revisit their priorities!
  6. I've met some of the best people I know on here and are actual bona-fide best friends in the whole world. A lot I speak to every day, a few would be the first folk I'd contact in troubled times. There's genuinely a book in the history of this gaff. Friendships, gay pile ons, summer piss ups, euro jollies, crime rackets, affairs, straightners, organised football violence, thousands raised for charities, lads bought back from the brink or sent to the brink etc etc That's all before you crack on with Kermit the frog, space docking, the groominator and the likes. Some gaff honestly.
  7. I've met @Not in Crawley @Tonge moor green jacket @Spider @bolty58 @BobyBrno @barryk32 and probably one or two others without realising. And two a man they've all been absolutely superb. I tell you now - if the shit ever hit the fan - any of the above would have your back - no matter what kind of daft argument you might have with them previously on a football forum. We bicker a lot - but that's what mates do. And let's face it - I talk to you lot much more than I do with my real life friends. Genuinely there not one person on here that I don't like - or wouldn't love to have a drink with in real life 👍
  8. Another couple of net contributors there! 🙄 I've much more sympathy for someone travelling from Syria or Afghanistan than I have for these twats. There's some context for you! 😁
  9. There's plenty wrong with being gay as you well know! https://youtu.be/v7OV_Oe7KAo?si=fVpEEUR704VXSjaW

Where were we on the list for mincing sock down 10's?

I think people are sometimes reading much too much into things at what is still an early stage

We are the biggest club in this division however you want to spin it. History, gates, ground and dosh. We fill every away ground and have unbelievable home attendances. The fact we've been down here so long is a disgrace really. This way, way below our natural level. Every club in the land finds that again sooner or later.
  13. Ultimately it's a lot to do with politicians not having the bolloxs to stand up for what they truly believe to be right, because politics attracts and rewards populists, egoists and corrupt, greedy, selfish, coniving bastards.
  14. Calling for the killing of mps is only a summary offence, while saying burn down a hotel is more serious? No wonder people regard the justice system as being multi-tiered, biased, truly bizarre and not acting in the best interests of the country.

Tutu beats a man and loses it. Luckily for him he has a big Willy so the easy lower faithful love him. I think we had two wingers who had little support in the center. Fresh start for them.
  16. I've never listened to any Elbow tunes but it always made me chuckle that their tribute band was called Arse.
  17. On a par with Elbow?

We are every cunts big day out and every cunt fills their ground when we turn up.
  19. If you read the court transcripts this wasn't her only offensive tweet. There were multiple before and after. I saw her on twitter a lot. She was a serial knobhead and she showed no remorse when in custody and joked about it on WhatsApp to her mates privately. Her defence will have known this so you'd imagine it further weakened the reasoning behind not going for a not guilty plea. I do think the length of sentence was harsh though when you compare what so horrible bastards get.
  20. She pleaded guilty to inciting racial hatred. She did appeal the sentence and it was rejected as the sentencing guidelines had been followed and her Solicitor showed that she had been properly advised link to appeal below She is not a casual Twitter user she had 9000 followers , I have 24 😀, Gudni Bergson 4500, Traf has 306. The post was shared 940 times and seen 310000 times. She claims she removed the post when she calmed down , the other version was that she took it down because she was told it would get her in trouble. Those defending her ignore the fact that at the same time Farage and others were sharing the lie that the attacker was a recently arrived immigrant on a watch list. Maybe they should be charged alongside her The claim is she only said burn them down for all I care. The full tweet is below, I think the ‘full of the bastards’ line is often ignored. The facts are people like Farage stick their beak into stuff like this but how to stay right side of the line. She did nt. When she gets out she will be a tool of the like of Tice to make a point but let’s be honest he really does not give a fuck about her. Was her sentence harsh ? It seems so , but it follows sentencing guidelines as upheld in her appeal. https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Lucy-Connolly-v-The-King.pdf Have sympathy for her if you want but only once you considered all the facts. With regards the acts at Glastonbury, I ain’t seen them but they will go through the same process. But if you argue Connolly is a victim ( not you personally here) you can not argue they should be next. Lot of people who last week slagged off cancel culture seem happy they have been dropped by their agency and had visa revoked, pretty much proving people themselves are ‘two tiered’
  21. See this is where we probably differ on this. For two reasons mainly 1) BV are artists - and it's generally a given that artists are performing and might well say some edgy, inflammatory or controversial things. Especially if they're a punk band. It's kind of an unwritten contract that you sign up to when you go and watch them. A bit like going watching a comedian I suppose. 2) To actually do what he was suggesting (kill the IDF) - you'd need to get on a plane to Israel, somehow get hold of some weaponry, and then attack a member of the armed forces. Which seems incredibly unlikely. 3) I'm presuming BV said this because they were on after Kneecap and knew that that band were going to be censored - so it was more of a middle finger to the BBC and the establishment That said - I do think LC's punishment is over the top. But I think the likelyhood of some knobhead listening to her and carrying something out was much greater - especially given the climate at the time. It's an interesting one to ponder though and it wouldn't suprise me if BV ended up getting a knock at some point in the near future. I can't say I'd have much sympathy one way or another.
  22. 'Kneecap' is an absolutely shite name for a band by the way.

Since the takeover, we've consistently spent 'big' in comparison to our league status. Even in season 1, the COVID season, we jumped the gun to get Doyle & Sarcevic on big wages before the EFL deadline where the £65k a year salary cap came in. Irrespective of your views on the pair (esp Sarce) we wouldn't have gone up without those early budget-busting deals.
  24. also Lived would imply he has left Bolton and we all know @Sweep has never left the shire
  25. it is pretty impressive how folk ignore the stuff about him and pretend he is a god of bolton by posting stuff that is already on the internet. i am always disappointed at how many folk i know seem to think it is normal to follow his group

This. There's only been the odd team over the last few seasons that have spent more than us. This season, Huddersfield are obviously splashing the cash. Last season it was Brum - Wrexham went up because of Parky's tactics rather than spending dosh on talent. Season before, Derby spent £££ on wages. and Sheff Wed still had some championship salaries. Ipswich spent money too after their takeover. That's not many over the past 3/4 seasons. There's nothing to substantiate that argument at all.
  27. That greasy Mongy Craig bloke is testament to that. Wanderer or not, he's far from sound
  28. Thanks mate. I'll have a watch. I'm genuinely curious!
  29. Don't know how much it's been editted, but their set is on iplayer. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002fbpw/glastonbury-kneecap?seriesId=b007r6vx-manual-7-beats_bars

Yeah. If you dont like it, turn it off and watch Dad's Army or it ain't half hot mum on Dave. Loads of blokes on them.
  32. That's a fair summary. If the season kicked off tomorrow the squad looks really unbalanced, but we have to buy and sell when we can. Some positions now look massively overstocked (central mid and centre backs) so hopefully we can sell a few and add the needed wingers, full backs and another striker. All the business so far has been decent though imo
  33. I hope this is the last day of boil yer bollocks weather. I mean it's lovely when you finish work but it's already just sit there sweating hot. Carries on I'm off to find the nearest air con work place round here, now way I'm going into London today.
  34. We'll find out later this week
  35. From an Everton site . 50 mins of us at home to the toffees 07/08 ... Pablo will like this one.

  38. And hoping it's a sell out, so they can profit from a resale.
  39. Aye I'm behind the cause and all that but there's there's not a lot of goals in what we have so far. We'd be starting the season with Dalby and McAtee up front. There's not enough goals there.

he's South Wales Shirley? otherwise i'd lob Nathan Blake in the mix 😄
  41. Terry's East Seventeen Company. Remember his fallout with fellow band-member Brian very well in the mid-90s. One of them went on to almost accidentally kill himself with his own car because he ate too many baked spuds (which he had 'coincidentally' bought from TESCO), while the other became a supermarket billionaire.
