Another no from me. L1 would of been a maybe but not what we need now.
  2. BBC NewsRussia was behind arson attacks targeting PM, BBC revealsEvidence shows Russians directing the plot and stoking tensions with fake far-right and Muslim groups.More bias reporting from the BBC I assume ? Farage and Tommy are so up the Russians they have no idea how stupid they sound claiming to be Patriots whilst a foreign Government tries to destabilise the country and beyond.

Still the most mind boggling transfer of recent years. Its not as if we didnt know anything about him when he signed.
  4. It does sound simple....but the first point, about leaving the ECHR won't happen, even if Reform get in at the next GE, they'll find a reason why they cannot simply just leave the ECHR - it will of course be everybody else's fault. As for point 2, it's been discussed to death by those who know more than you or I, that the Channel crossing being so short, is a problem in tracking the boats - by the time they do spot them, they're often already here. If the expanse of water was larger and wasn't' as busy as it currently is, then it'd be much easier to spot and intercept (apparently) The only real way to stop them coming, is to make it wholly unattractive to anybody who does make the crossing - at the minute, there is clearly far too much incentive to make the crossing, we need to remove that incentive.
  5. I’m not surprised with that name

I really did not make it clear in my post that when I was talking about a ‘decent basis’ I was meaning ‘good enough to stay up’. Which I am sure changes my logic significantly. I base that on us having a number of players from last year who played very active roles in getting us up. Obviously we need to recruit but given squad size that is pretty obvious. We need to be recruiting ‘starters’ to improve. We have a recruitment team that in a lower division that was able to bring in Kenny and ACD so presumably now at a higher level can be looking at at least similar if not better players next season. In the Championship I have mentioned the overall quality will be higher but there is also usually at least one basket case and I think Lincoln losing their manager will impact them massively and they are unlikely to have so many players go injury and/or suspension free as they did last year IMO. With a summer of recruitment already underway, I will be disappointed if we can not put together a full squad that is capable of staying up. ACD would be top of that list, appreciate he did not shine at Blackburn but at 19 maybe too much of a leap, but he is now easily imo good enough to play in a regular basis for most teams in the Championship. CBT massive risk with his injury record, Kenny depends on the Celtic situation but do not think we can afford to wait till Jan this time. Of the players who have left, Tutu I would have like to stay, George J as a squad player but think we can hopefully recruit better.

We do not have the basis of a solid Championship team we have lost 6 players from the Stockport final squad plus a further 6 so 12 in total. We ended 5th in the league and without doubt as it stands have the worst squad in the Championship. Three of our better players last season Rodrigues, ACD, and Blackett Taylor have all struggled in the Championship. SS/Harkin will rebuild this summer but they have a tough ask and we will need major investment just to consolidate

I’m at peace with letting him become a distant memory now.

    More strikers than Scargill.

I can see why SS would have reservations as up to now he has not found his position. We Just got rid of TuTu because he was not a true right back and it looks like we are replacing with the same. Stephenson will have improvement in him and is the kind of player we have to be buying. I am not sure Christie and Stephenson will be the answer to the right back position next season

I believe Luca Stephenson might be done, I'd heard initially that Schumacher wasn't too keen but sounds like he must have changed his mind or been convinced by Fergal that its a smart move.
  13. I'd love Carl Froch to get hold of John Fury and smash his fat fucking face in.

I was generally supportive of Evatt - at least until Huddersfield walloped us early in the season after the Oxford debacle. But Dan being like Ivan Toney, Etete being like ‘prime Drogba’ and Randall a ‘top player’ is bordering on delusional
  15. It Wont be perfect But its a step in the right direction. Wouldnt be happening if these companies took accountability for what they allow to happen on their platforms.

Less physical. Better chance to play good football. My take is I expect Sheehan for example to go up another notch at this level
  17. Not 100% sure, but presumably all platforms will need age checking/verification systems, presumably tied to some pre-approved form of ID (bank cards, passports). Also, I'd guess, that services that are aimed at children/minors will also have stricter regulations with regards to infinite scrolling and autoplay. There will be ways around it, of course there will, but it's a step in the right direction surely. I suppose only raging peados and wrong 'uns will be looking to actively criticise the Government over the introduction of this
  18. To be fair, since 2007 he's never come across someone so insufferable as to want to ignore them. QED
  19. I'm not tolerant of people calling me slow you fucking prick. I haven't criticised you and asked a simple question of someone else and yet here you are having a go at me and then you wonder why folk get wound up by you.

He'll end up in the Huddersfield triangle with all the other league 1 strikers
  21. Money will be a factor. I suspect versatility also comes into play. I suspect if Stephenson is signed he will be pencilled in for right back, but if Schumacher changes to wing backs he seems to be equal comfortable playing that role too. If Toal is injured or suspended he can play it seems centre back or in a 3 at the back, the right side of the three. We have to cut our cloth accordingly, players who are comfortable to play in several positions are cheaper buying a specialist right back and also a specialist right wing back - two for the price of one, sort of thing. I don't see why people are seeing his signing as a risk as such (yes all signings are a risk, I know that) but at 22 years old he's already had around 100 games under his belt and played 60 of them in the same division as Dalby and Kenny who we all feel will be ok in the Championship. You could throw back at me that Richard Taylor also had around 60 games in the SP but I am on record after seeing his highlight reel that I couldn't see anything special about him for a season with us in the third tier, so unlike Wanderlust who rated Taylor more than Dalby (who ended up our Player of the Season) I got that one right and I reckon (again from just his highlight reel) that he will be just fine for us if we sign him. We haven't even signed him yet anyway!
  22. Pissing around relentlessly playing out from the back at Stevenage on a Tuesday night in November 😃
  23. I agree, think its a smart signing in a business sense but a risky one in a footballing sense, I'd like to see us add another right back, someone like Christie but without the lead weights for legs ideally.
  24. It is, not as nailed on as the Davies deal was though, few more moving parts with a transfer with a fee I suppose 🤷🏻‍♂️

  30. Didn't think Spain v Cape Verde would be the game to kill this bet
  31. Tunisia sacked manager Sabri Lamouchi today following a 5-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening 2026 World Cup match. Former manager Mondher Kebaier has been appointed as his interim replacement. "Interim !!"

Id sign the entire Cape Verdi squad after that !
  33. We have the flexibility and time to do so. Be reet.
  34. Exactly that. It's down to parents to get the balance right. Same when we were kids, some would never leave their bedrooms playing Mortal Kombat and before that kids watching telly all day. For the horse has bolted. Social media is absolutely ingrained in our world now and for most kids, with the right balance it does no harm. I see no trouble in my lad chatting to his mates on Snapchat while he plays fifa on a freezing cold hight in the middle of winter. I'd rather him be doing that than roaming the streets. Tiktok, Twitter and FB etc are a different kettle of fish obviously. No kid should be on them.
  35. I think they know it won't work massively well, but they have to be seen to be doing something, as "big tech" don't give a fuck what kids do or don't see on line. Easier said than done, but it's really down to parents to try and police their kids screen time -my mate has 2, and they only have 1 hour screen time per day (much to their distress), I think he's got some sort of setting where their tablets automatically lock, and only he can override it, via some app he has on his phone
  36. It’s 16p each for the 30000 patriots.
  37. No matter who is in charge, this was always going to happen As said before, anybody who is actually against it, is clearly a peado sympathiser - so expect Musk, Trump, Robinson and Farage to come out and complain about it within the next 24/48 hours
  38. Yep, when the likes of Curacao, know they have to go for it and win by 5 clear goals 😁 - I do get the point though, it'll mean there aren't actually any dead rubbers, as you can lose the first 2 and still qualify for the next round
  39. he wasnt good at anything, so crap
  40. I was convinced we'd be miles better under Evatt in the championship

  44. Oh yes, you are correct on this one. I don't suffer fools gladly. Especially electronic ones.
  45. Look, try using your own brain instead of the apparently defective electronic one you seem to be reliant upon. Let me spell it out for you. Leave the ECHR. Do as Australia did and tow the boats back to the shore they departed from. In a very short time, the folk who are often investing their life savings with criminals will realise they are pissing away the family store for nought and will cease seeking to cross the channel. They will then stop making their way to Northern France and probably stay in the first 'safe' country they reach from whatever God forsaken hell hole they have left (if they are truly escaping wars/oppression etc. - which in many cases I believe to be absolute bollocks and are merely economic migrants). This would undoubtedly be an agreeable result for France too. The big bonus. An end to these 'boat people' perishing in the Channel. The antithesis of what you were stupidly implying that any one us would like to see. This is the longest reply you will ever receive from me. It may well be one of the last.
  46. That’s how all us sailors talk. So it must be true.

It's one of those things about numbers. Once they go past a certain size - our brains can't really comprehend how big it is. The jump from a million to a billion is huge. The jump from a billion a trillion is mond blowing. Something has gone badly wrong with our system when one person can accumulate that much money - and millions of others are below the poverty line. I don't care what anybody says. It's sick.
