Chelsea & their managers.

Only 5 managers in English League history have won 2 major trophies in one season only to be sacked within 12 months.

The managers were ... Mourinho, Ancelotti, di Matteo, Mourinho and Maresca.

The clubs were all Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea and Chelsea.

Though, to nit-pick, that's only 4 different managers.

... & correct, there's no way Leroy is going to make it. The most important thing in his contract will be its termination clause.

They've brought him from a team they already own, no compo paid, if he does shit they'll just shift him onto another club they own, or keep him on the books but not as manager and if anyone wants him they'll want compo as he's still under contract at Chelsea

Bit like Watford few years ago, their owners had clubs in Italy and Spain so when they signed the likes of Vdrya from one of their other clubs they just basically just transfered money from one account to another

Are we counting the Community Shield and Club World Cup that nobody else was invited to?

Fck knows. Just sent by a Chelsea fan. So probably. Just thought it made interesting reading.

I thought you would want your mate Sir Gareth the virtue signaller in 😃

I think Wilf might do a better job of it.

The scum had a former manager called Wilf McGuinness who was a roaring success. It's an omen.

You seem to be missing the key point though. The colour of his skin.

BBC Sport seem to think this matters so big points for Chelsea in the virtue signalling stakes (apparently) for appointing a 'black, English' manager.

Of course the vast majority of us don't give a flying fuck what colour he is. Can he manage a club like that successfully (can anybody?)? That's what he'll be judged on, not services to diversity and inclusion. By sane folk anyway.

I’d totally forgotten that Jim Ratcliffe spent millions getting Dan Ashworth to United from Newcastle to oversee football decisions but sacked him almost immediately when he said that bringing in Amorim would be a bad idea.

I think Ashworth walked out when he realised that Ratcliffe was going to take the advice of the business man in the room and not the football man

he wanted to bring in someone who knew England like Southgate or Tuchel but the other guy wanted Amorim

still

it cost them about 4-5m to get him and get rid, about 10 to get rid of ten haag, and 30 to bring in then sack amorim

fucking shambles

love it

Well at least they were able to partially offset the 45mil costs by laying off some admin staff and cleaners, and cutting back on complimentary match tickets etc for staff, so overall showing decent business acumen.

Yet had a bench a few weeks ago earning c.£2m in that week.

Thomas Franks, Spurs, must be very close to the chop. It'll be a real shame after the great work he did at Brentford.

Sometimes the grass turns out not to be greener.

I feel very strongly that any player or manager going there is on a hiding to nothing

Listening to an interview with Neil Warnock earlier- he reckons Parish will get rid sooner now.

After Glasner's post match just now he'll be gone this week

Right after they spent a million on a player. Who on earth would do that?

Feels like they’ve been in constant crisis all season, but they’re only 3 points behind us

I find them ridiculous

One of those where with someone of Frank’s calibre and proven ability in the Prem you just know that if he were to still be there in 3 years time they’d be in a far stronger position, but trying to get irrational fans to see that is very hard.

If he can’t make it work then I’ve no idea who would and I hope they fail with whoever comes in next.

I don't think they'll ever be anything other than what they currently are
